DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan officially laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new village office in Marindal II on Wednesday (June 4, 2026). The ceremony took place on Jalan Fokrat Raya, Hamlet IX, Marindal II Village, Patumbak District.
The project marks a significant step forward in strengthening public services at the village level and is being fully driven by community initiative and local participation.
The new administrative building will stand on an 800-square-meter plot of land generously donated by the family of Malem Ukur Tarigan to the Marindal II village administration. Funding for the construction primarily comes from community contributions and support from local business owners.
During the ceremony, Regent
Asri Ludin Tambunan praised the strong sense of solidarity demonstrated by residents, emphasizing that mutual cooperation remains a key pillar of
rural development.
According to the village head, the project relies entirely on public donations and external support. "This is a major challenge, and we hope it can be completed within one year," the Regent said.

Transparency and Government SupportThe Regent also noted that village development projects may qualify for government support, including tax-sharing funds, provided that land ownership status is clearly and legally established.
He stressed that transparency is essential in ensuring the proper use of public funds and maintaining accountability in development projects.
"However, community initiative remains the strongest foundation of this project," Asri Ludin Tambunan added.
Hope for Improved Public ServicesAddressing village head Jufri Antono, the Regent urged the community to maintain responsibility and ensure that the new building will be used optimally for public services.
"When citizens come together to build a
village office, the administration must also deliver the best service. This building belongs to all residents of
Marindal II," he said.
With approximately 5,600 households, the Regent highlighted Marindal II as a village with strong potential for further development and participation programs, particularly in increasing local tax revenue.
