LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM The Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency Government held an official ceremony commemorating Pancasila Day 2026 at the Regent's Office compound on Monday, June 1, 2026. The event not only honored Indonesia's state ideology but also reinforced calls for stronger national unity amid increasingly complex global challenges.

The ceremony was led by Labuhanbatu Selatan Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro and was attended by civil servants (ASN), members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), community leaders, and representatives from various regional institutions.

Held under the theme "Pancasila: Uniting the Nation, Building World Peace," the commemoration highlighted the continued importance of Pancasila as the foundation of the Indonesian state and a guiding framework for maintaining social harmony.

Pancasila as the Foundation of National Cohesion

During the ceremony, Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro read an official address from the Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) of the Republic of Indonesia.

The statement emphasized that since Indonesia's independence, Pancasila has functioned as the nation's guiding philosophy, helping preserve unity across the country's vast diversity of ethnicities, religions, cultures, and languages.

"Pancasila is the common home for all Indonesians. Its values serve as the binding force that unites diverse elements of the nation into a strong and enduring national identity," the message stated.

The BPIP also underlined that Pancasila Day is not merely an annual ceremony, but an important moment of national reflection. It serves as a reminder for citizens to strengthen ideological commitment in the face of rapid global transformation.

In addition, Indonesia's constitutional responsibility to contribute to a global order based on independence, lasting peace, and social justice—aligned with the 1945 Constitution's Preamble—was also reaffirmed.

Youth Encouraged to Internalize Pancasila Values

The BPIP further called on all elements of society, especially the younger generation, to actively implement Pancasila values in daily life rather than merely understanding them as an abstract ideology.

According to the agency, Pancasila principles should be practiced within families, educational environments, workplaces, and community interactions. This active implementation is seen as essential for Indonesia to adapt and thrive amid globalization's social, economic, and cultural shifts.

Deputy Regent Warns Against Intolerance and Radicalism

In his remarks, Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro urged residents of Labuhanbatu Selatan to strengthen national awareness, maintain social harmony, and firmly reject all forms of intolerance, radicalism, and divisive ideologies.

He emphasized that Indonesia's diversity is a fundamental strength that must be protected through cooperation, tolerance, and solidarity among citizens.

"Pancasila Day should serve as a reminder for all elements of society to preserve national unity, strengthen patriotism, and apply Pancasila values in everyday life," he stated.

The ceremony was also attended by members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), including Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Chief AKBP Aditya S.P. Sembiring, Regional Secretary M. Reza Pahlevi Nasution, Regional House of Representatives member Zulkifli Nasution, Chairperson of the Rantauprapat Religious Court Sri Armaini, and other regional officials.

The 2026 Pancasila Day commemoration in Labuhanbatu Selatan reaffirmed the enduring role of Pancasila as a cornerstone of national life, serving as a unifying force for social stability, national solidarity, and the pursuit of global peace. (IDNC)
