MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – Medan Mayor Rico Waas led a large-scale community cleanup operation at Teladan Stadium on Saturday (May 23, 2026). The initiative is part of accelerated preparations as the stadium is being considered as a potential venue for the prestigious AFF U-19 Cup.

Medan City Government to speed up the completion of stadium infrastructure, ensuring readiness for upcoming international football events.

Rico Waas arrived early in the morning alongside various municipal agencies. He mobilized district and sub-district officials, along with sanitation workers, to actively participate in cleaning operations. The focus included removing construction debris, leftover materials, and improving the overall aesthetic condition of the stadium complex.

"Today we are initiating a large-scale community action. We have involved all districts and sub-districts to work together at Teladan Stadium. Since several areas are still under construction, we are utilizing this weekend to jointly clean the site," Rico Waas said.
