MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – North Sumatra Deputy Governor, Surya, has called on all State Civil Apparatus (ASN) personnel to continuously improve their competencies and foster a sustainable learning culture within government institutions. Amid rapid technological developments, ASN are expected to work faster, smarter, more adaptively, and collaboratively in delivering public services.
The statement was delivered during the official launch of the Sumut Corporate University and the closing ceremony of the 2026 CPNS Basic Training Batch I and II at Raja Inal Siregar Hall, North Sumatra Governor's Office, Medan, on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
The event was attended by Head of Indonesia's National Institute of Public Administration (LAN) Muhammad Taufiq, Acting Provincial Secretary Sulaiman Harahap, regional government officials, and thousands of participants of the CPNS basic training program.

ASN Required to Be Adaptive and Collaborative
In his remarks, Surya read a message from North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution, emphasizing that the launch of Sumut Corporate University marked an important milestone in transforming human resource development within the provincial government.

He also expressed appreciation to the participants of the 2026 CPNS Basic Training Batch I and II for successfully completing all stages of training and field practice.
According to him, the new generation of CPNS will play a strategic role in accelerating bureaucratic reform in the future. ASN, he said, must not only possess administrative capabilities but also integrity, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills to serve the community effectively.
"ASN must uphold integrity, service orientation, adaptability, teamwork, and technological competence while providing concrete solutions for society. They must work fast, think smart, collaborate effectively, and create real impacts for the people," he said.

Sumut Corporate University as a Modern Learning Ecosystem
Surya further explained that Sumut Corporate University is far more than a conventional training program. It is designed as an integrated, modern, and sustainable learning ecosystem for ASN across North Sumatra.

"We want ASN in North Sumatra to embrace the spirit of lifelong learning. Learning no longer takes place only in classrooms, but also through work experience, field practice, mentoring, coaching, collaborative learning, digital technology, and knowledge sharing," Surya explained.
Focus on Integrity and Public Service
During the event, Surya also reminded all ASN personnel to maintain integrity and consistently implement the core values of "BerAKHLAK" in public service.

At the conclusion of the event, Surya officially launched the Sumut Corporate University and formally closed the 2026 CPNS Basic Training Batch I and II. (IDNC)
