BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM – The Secretary of Aceh Province, M. Nasir, together with assistant officials and representatives from all Aceh Provincial Government Work Units (SKPA), held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with youth organizations and student representatives on Monday, May 4, 2026. The meeting took place at the Regional Potential Room of the Aceh Provincial Secretariat in Banda Aceh.
The forum served as an open platform for dialogue between the government and students regarding Governor Regulation No. 2 of 2026 on the Aceh Health Insurance System (Jaminan Kesehatan Aceh/JKA). Student and youth representatives emphasized that they were not calling for the regulation to be revoked, but rather for a comprehensive review to ensure more effective and targeted implementation.
Students Call for Review, Not Revocation

However, he noted that the outcomes of the dialogue indicated that revoking the regulation could potentially create new problems.
"We, as students, are open to differing perspectives as part of the intellectual process. However, today we see that revoking the regulation would create a legal vacuum. In such a case, both budgeting and the technical implementation of JKA could no longer be guaranteed," he said.

Legal Uncertainty and Its Wider ImpactRendi also warned that the absence of a clear legal framework could have serious consequences affecting not only certain groups but all segments of society in Aceh.
"If JKA does not function, it would not only impact citizens in higher income groups, but all segments of society from decile 1 to 10 would feel the consequences," he explained.
He further emphasized that students are ready to provide critical and constructive oversight to ensure the health program continues to run in accordance with regulations and remains on target.
Strengthening JKA Through CollaborationThe FGD is expected to serve as a foundation for further development of JKA policy. Collaboration between the government and student groups is seen as a crucial step toward building a sustainable and equitable healthcare system for the people of Aceh. (IDNC)
