LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – The Government of Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency held a solemn commemoration of the 2026 National Education Day (Hardiknas) on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Santun Berkata Bijak Berkarya (SBBK) Square in Kotapinang. The event carried a dignified atmosphere and served as a strong reaffirmation of the region's commitment to advancing education.

Fery Sahputra Simatupang personally led the ceremony as inspector, emphasizing that education is not merely an obligation, but the fundamental pillar for regional and national progress.

The proceedings were formally conducted by Suroto, while Ahmad Muklis read the opening protocol. The Head of the Education Office, Zulpan Amsar, served as the ceremony officer.
The gathering reflected strong institutional support for education, bringing together stakeholders from multiple sectors in a unified national education observance.

A key focus is the implementation of deep learning, designed to foster deeper, more adaptive, and competency-based learning experiences.
The government has also introduced five strategic education priorities: expansion and revitalization of schools along with digital learning transformation; improvement of teacher competence and welfare; strengthening character education within safe learning environments; enhancement of STEM-based literacy and numeracy skills; and widening access to inclusive education.
"These five programs must be implemented consistently at the regional level to strengthen education in Labuhanbatu Selatan," said Regent Fery Sahputra Simatupang.

He further noted that the national education agenda aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita vision, which prioritizes the development of high-quality human resources.
"If we want to advance a nation, we must improve education. And if we want to improve education, it starts in the classroom," he added.

Following the ceremony,
SBBK Square transformed into a vibrant stage featuring performances from ten school drum bands across different districts. Students from elementary to high school levels showcased energetic and creative performances, making
Hardiknas 2026 one of the most memorable celebrations of the current administration.
However, amid the festive atmosphere, residents raised concerns regarding infrastructure around the venue. The exit area of the MHB zone was reported to be muddy and waterlogged, affecting the overall appearance of the site. The public has called for prompt improvements to enhance cleanliness and accessibility.
