BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM – The Government of Aceh Province is accelerating the rehabilitation and reconstruction of agricultural land affected by natural disasters, aiming to strengthen food security while driving economic recovery across impacted regions.
Provincial Secretary M. Nasir stated that a total budget of Rp380,033,300,000 has been allocated for programs focused on restoring and rebuilding agricultural areas. The funding is directed toward land optimization, rice field rehabilitation, and the development of supporting infrastructure such as irrigation systems and farm access roads.
"The Aceh government is currently prioritizing acceleration across all stages—from planning to construction and land management—so that disaster-affected agricultural areas can quickly return to productive use," said M. Nasir.

Universities including Syiah Kuala University, Malikussaleh University, and Samudra University are assisting with technical studies, with 12,205 hectares—around 45 percent of the target—already completed.
The implementation phase handled by local governments is supported by a budget of Rp124,526,600,000, followed by land preparation activities worth Rp24,363,900,000 aimed at improving agricultural productivity.
For moderately damaged areas, a rehabilitation program valued at Rp65,236,050,000 is underway across 4,393 hectares in five districts. Through collaboration between farmer groups and the military, approximately 3,981 hectares have already been successfully rehabilitated.

In addition, 149 pipe irrigation systems worth Rp14,006,000,000 are being developed, with around 24 percent completion. Other ongoing projects include 45 conservation structures, 300 secondary irrigation networks, and 106 farm roads, all of which are still in early construction stages.

"We are confident that with strong synergy, all programs can be completed on schedule so that affected agricultural lands can once again be optimally utilized," he said.
The
Aceh government hopes these efforts will not only restore agricultural infrastructure but also significantly increase farmers' productivity and income in the long term.
