MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The volunteer organization Relawan Parhobas has expressed its full support for North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution regarding the proposed regional regulation (Perda) banning the use of e-cigarettes, or vape, in public spaces.
Growing Support for Public Health MeasuresParhobas views the initiative as a crucial step toward strengthening preventive measures against the misuse of harmful substances in society. The group believes that firm regulations are necessary, particularly to better protect younger generations from potential risks.

Vape Concerns Over Emerging Drug Risks

Due to their easy availability and the difficulty of detection, vape products are considered a serious public health concern.
"This is no longer just a trend or lifestyle issue. We are facing a drug emergency. The effects of drugs delivered through vape can even be stronger than other substances," he said.

According to Jantison, such tests should be conducted without prior notice to ensure transparency and prevent manipulation.
"The implementation should only be known by the governor. No announcements—so the results remain honest and cannot be influenced," he emphasized.
