BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Government of Aceh has stepped up intensive preparations for the planned revision of Law No. 11 of 2006 concerning the Governance of Aceh (UUPA), ahead of a scheduled visit by 31 members of Indonesia's House of Representatives Legislative Body (Baleg DPR RI) on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
To strengthen the substance of the reform, the provincial administration has also engaged professors and academic experts from various universities across Aceh to contribute to policy discussions and formulation.

Aceh Government spokesperson Dr. Nurlis Effendi said the deputy governor emphasized the importance of thorough preparation ahead of the parliamentary delegation's visit.
"We must be fully prepared to provide comprehensive explanations to the legislators. This is a crucial moment for Aceh's future," Nurlis said.

The discussions were enriched by contributions from academics, including professors from Universitas Syiah Kuala, Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry, and Universitas Malikussaleh. Among them were Prof. Dr. Faisal, Prof. Dr. Husni Jalil, Prof. Dr. Syahrizal Abbas, Prof. Dr. Azhari, Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin, Dr. Amrizal J. Prang, and Dr. Usman Lamreung, alongside representatives from various regional government agencies (SKPA).
Deputy Governor Fadhlullah, also known as "Dek Fadh," expressed appreciation for the academic involvement.
"We thank all professors and academics for their valuable input. Their contributions have significantly improved the quality of the UUPA revision," he said.
He added that the inclusion of scholars has made discussions more comprehensive, particularly in strengthening Aceh's future legal and economic development framework.

Focus on Authority and Special Autonomy FundAceh Regional Secretary M. Nasir urged all SKPA heads, advisors, and technical teams to prepare complete and accurate data to respond effectively to questions from the Baleg DPR RI.
"The Government of Aceh aims to ensure optimal readiness for the visit of 31 Baleg DPR RI members led by Dr. H. Ahmad Doli Kurnia," he said.
He noted that key issues in the UUPA revision include education authority (particularly Islamic schools/madrasahs), oil and gas management, village governance (gampong), port administration, qanun regulations, and the Special Autonomy Fund (Dana Otsus).
So far, the Baleg DPR RI in Jakarta has indicated that an extension of the Otsus fund has been fundamentally agreed upon within the UUPA revision framework.
