EVALUATION OF DOCTOR VISITS: RSUD Drs. H. Amri Tambunan responds to a patient’s complaint concerning visits by the doctor responsible for the patient’s treatment and conducts an evaluation accordingly.

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - RSUD Drs. H. Amri Tambunan has responded to reports concerning a patient complaint about visits by the doctor responsible for the patient's treatment, known as the Dokter Penanggung Jawab Pasien (DPJP), during the patient's hospitalization.

Director of RSUD Drs. H. Amri Tambunan, dr. Erlinda Yani, MKM, said the hospital had reviewed the medical services provided to the patient in question. She added that feedback from the patient and the patient's family was also being treated by hospital management as an important component in efforts to continuously improve the quality of healthcare services.

Erlinda explained that the patient mentioned in the reports had indeed received treatment at RSUD Amri Tambunan. During the patient's hospitalization, however, the DPJP responsible for the treatment was unable to perform his duties due to illness.

DPJP Unavailable, Another Doctor Takes Over Treatment

According to Erlinda, the hospital subsequently took measures to ensure that the patient's medical care continued without interruption. Another doctor was therefore assigned to continue the treatment, namely dr. M. Isa Anshari Harahap, Sp.PD.

"It is true that the patient in question was treated at RSUD Amri Tambunan. At that time, the DPJP responsible for the treatment was unable to perform his duties due to illness. Therefore, the treatment was continued by another doctor, namely dr. M. Isa Anshari Harahap, Sp.PD. The patient has now completed the treatment and has been allowed to leave the hospital," Erlinda said on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Erlinda emphasized that the hospital would continue to ensure that patients received appropriate medical care even when the assigned DPJP was unavailable. Continuity of patient care, she said, remained a high priority under all circumstances.

In addition to conducting an internal evaluation, Erlinda, accompanied by the deputy director for medical services at RSUD Amri Tambunan, also met the patient in person. The meeting also provided the hospital with an opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience the patient experienced during treatment.

Director Meets Patient and Offers Apology

Erlinda said the hospital understood that healthcare services involved more than medical treatment alone. The well-being and sense of safety experienced by patients during their stay at a healthcare facility were equally important.

"We personally apologized to the patient. We understand that healthcare is also about the patient's well-being and sense of safety. Therefore, we must take every piece of feedback seriously," she said.

According to Erlinda, feedback from patients and their families plays an important role in evaluating various aspects of healthcare services. The hospital, she said, remained open to complaints and concerns raised by the public.

Erlinda explained that the evaluation was part of the hospital's efforts to identify areas where further improvements were still needed. In this way, patients' experiences could serve as a basis for continuously improving the quality of healthcare services.

She also reaffirmed RSUD Amri Tambunan's openness to criticism and suggestions from the public. The hospital would use such feedback as an evaluation reference to improve areas where further optimization was needed.

"We are open to criticism and suggestions from the public. We will use every piece of feedback as an evaluation reference to improve areas where further improvements are still needed," she said.

Commitment to Better Healthcare Quality

Erlinda further explained that improving service quality was part of RSUD Amri Tambunan's commitment to providing high-quality healthcare to the community. The hospital, she said, was continuously working to ensure that medical services addressed the needs and well-being of patients.

This commitment is also in line with RSUD Amri Tambunan's support for the vision and mission of Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan, together with Deputy Regent Lom Lom Suwondo, particularly in the healthcare sector.

Erlinda said the hospital would continue to make improvements based on the results of evaluations and feedback received. In her view, good healthcare services require openness to various forms of criticism as well as a willingness to address existing shortcomings.

"We are committed to providing the community with increasingly better, safer and more responsive healthcare services. We appreciate the feedback and attention that have been given to us," she concluded.

RSUD Amri Tambunan hopes that communication between the hospital, patients and their families can continue to be maintained properly. The hospital also assured that public feedback would remain part of its evaluation process in support of continuous improvements in healthcare quality.

Through this evaluation, the management of RSUD Amri Tambunan is seeking to ensure that every patient receives medically appropriate care while also experiencing a sense of safety and well-being throughout the treatment process. (IDNC)
