JAKARTA | INDATANEWS.COM - Kahiyang Ayu, Chairwoman of the Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda), Chairwoman of the Family Welfare and Empowerment Team (TP PKK), and Chairwoman of the Posyandu Advisory Team of Sumatera Utara Province, attended a coordination meeting on strengthening the organizational governance of Dekranasda, TP PKK, and Posyandu Advisory Teams in western Indonesia on Monday, September 21, 2026. The event was held at the Bidakara Hotel in Jakarta.
The coordination meeting served as a strategic forum for the central and regional governments to align policies while strengthening the institutional structures of three organizations that play an important role in community empowerment and development. The gathering also provided an opportunity to establish a more unified understanding of
organizational governance at both the national and regional levels.
During the meeting, participants discussed various institutional aspects, including the position and functions of the organizations, working relationships, the division of responsibilities, and organizational accountability. These discussions were considered important to ensure that Dekranasda, TP PKK, and the Posyandu Advisory Teams can carry out their respective duties effectively while delivering a greater impact for the community.
Strengthening Clear Organizational Structures
National TP PKK Chairwoman Tri Tito Karnavian emphasized the importance of clear and systematic organizational governance. According to her, institutional strengthening must cover organizational structures, the division of responsibilities, as well as measurable monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
Good
organizational governance enables every part of an organization to understand its respective duties and responsibilities. Through a clear distribution of roles, program implementation in the regions is expected to become more targeted and better aligned with community needs and the specific characteristics of each region.
Although Dekranasda, TP PKK, and the Posyandu Advisory Teams have different organizational characteristics and functions, they share significant areas of work in community empowerment. Continuous coordination is therefore necessary to ensure that various programs are not implemented independently but instead complement and reinforce one another.
Institutional strengthening is also closely linked to accountability in program implementation. Every initiative requires clear planning, a measurable distribution of responsibilities, as well as regular monitoring and evaluation. This is essential to ensure that programs implemented at the regional level remain aligned with the objectives of community empowerment.

Sumatera Utara Aligns Regional Programs
Kahiyang Ayu said the coordination meeting was an important moment for the Sumatera Utara Regional Government to align various regional programs with national policy directions.
According to Kahiyang, policy alignment is particularly important because implementing community empowerment programs at the regional level requires the support of various stakeholders. Regional governments cannot carry out these responsibilities alone and need cooperation from volunteers, community organizations, and the people who benefit from the programs.
Cross-sectoral cooperation is also a key element in addressing the different challenges faced by individual regions. Variations in social and economic conditions, as well as differences in community needs, require approaches tailored to the characteristics of each region while continuing to take national policy directions into account.
For
Sumatera Utara, stronger coordination between the Regional Government, volunteers, and the community is expected to support more effective program implementation. Such cooperation also provides opportunities to make better use of various regional potentials to support improvements in community welfare.

Close coordination between regional governments and those involved in implementation at the grassroots level can help identify problems at an early stage and develop measures that are more responsive to community needs.
Strengthening the

Dekranasda,
TP PKK, and the
Posyandu Advisory Teams is also important because the three institutions are directly connected to various aspects of community life. These include strengthening families, developing the potential of regional handicrafts, and improving
Posyandu services and assistance.
With increasingly structured organizational governance, program implementation is expected to go beyond simply carrying out activities and instead produce tangible benefits for the community. Each institution can strengthen its respective role while expanding cooperation with government agencies and the public in accordance with its area of responsibility.
The coordination meeting in Jakarta also highlighted the need for structured working relationships between the central and regional governments. A shared policy direction, clear responsibilities, and effective evaluation mechanisms provide the foundation for stronger implementation of community empowerment programs.
