DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM- The Deli Serdang Regency Government is strengthening communication with the business community through a "Coffee Morning and Business Dialogue" held in collaboration with the Deli Serdang Regency Leadership Board of the Indonesian Employers Association (DPK APINDO). The event was held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Cendana Hall, Deli Serdang Regent's Office.
Carrying the theme "Proper Compliance, Healthy Business," the event brought together

APINDO Deli Serdang board, and a number of businesspeople.
The forum served as a platform for the government and business community to discuss various issues related to investment, licensing, regulatory compliance, and the continuity of business activities in Deli Serdang Regency.
Deli Serdang Deputy Regent Lom Lom Suwondo said close communication between the government and
business community is an important component in creating a healthy business climate. He said direct dialogue can help the government and businesses find solutions to various issues before they develop into more serious problems.
"Business is one of the pillars and instruments that contributes to the development of Deli Serdang, regional revenue, and job creation," he said.
Lom Lom explained that the presence of the business sector is not solely related to economic activities, but also plays a role in supporting regional development. Therefore, the government must provide an open communication space where business needs can be conveyed while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Government Emphasizes Preventive Approach
In assisting businesses, the
Deli Serdang Regency Government is taking a preventive approach. Lom Lom acknowledged that there are still several businesses whose operations do not fully comply with applicable licensing requirements. This includes production activities whose scale does not correspond to the capacity stated in their licenses.
In his view, the situation requires close communication between the government and businesses. The government can explain the applicable requirements, while businesses are given an opportunity to make adjustments before enforcement measures are taken.
Lom Lom stressed that the government remains obligated to enforce regulations and take action against business activities that do not comply with applicable provisions. However, he hopes that business supervision can continue to be carried out through a persuasive and dialogue-oriented approach, with an emphasis on prevention.
"This issue is our shared responsibility. The government is obliged to maintain order and enforce regulations. However, we hope the approach will remain partnership-based. We want to take preventive measures before action becomes necessary," he said.
He viewed the business dialogue as an opportunity to establish a common understanding of the applicable regulations. When communication takes place at an early stage, the government and businesses can identify problems and seek solutions together without waiting for more serious difficulties to emerge.
In addition to regulatory compliance, the Deli Serdang Regency Government is also focusing on the speed and legal certainty of licensing procedures. The government wants to ensure that administrative processes do not become obstacles to investment development in the region.

Government Seeks Faster Licensing Services
Lom Lom said the government needs to review licensing procedures so that services for businesses can be delivered more quickly while providing greater legal certainty. He questioned why licensing procedures should take several months if they could actually be completed within a considerably shorter period.
"If a particular permit can be completed within one or one and a half months, why should businesses have to wait up to six months? There are permits that take six months or even longer to process," he said.
According to Lom Lom, accelerating licensing services does not mean that the government should disregard existing regulations. Instead, faster processing must go hand in hand with businesses fully meeting all requirements and legal provisions.
Such legal certainty is important for businesses when planning investments, expanding production, or creating new jobs. At the same time, it gives the government assurance that business activities in Deli Serdang are being carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.
He expressed hope that cooperation between the government and
business community would continue to be strengthened so that various investment obstacles could be discussed promptly. The government also encouraged businesses to openly communicate any difficulties through the available communication forums.
Through faster licensing services and stronger regulatory compliance among businesses, Lom Lom expressed hope that investment activity in Deli Serdang would continue to grow. Investment growth is expected to contribute to job creation and increase the role of the business sector in regional development.

APINDO Provides Space for Constructive Dialogue

APINDO Deli Serdang Tetty Dolok Saribu welcomed the implementation of the "Coffee Morning and Business Dialogue." She said APINDO deliberately designed the event in a more relaxed atmosphere so that businesspeople could engage in open discussions with the government.
According to Tetty, the Coffee Morning concept should not be viewed merely as an informal gathering. The forum must produce concrete outcomes that provide real benefits to businesses, particularly APINDO members operating in Deli Serdang's industrial sector.
"The concept of this Coffee Morning is serious, but at the same time relaxed and meaningful. It is not simply about drinking coffee together without taking anything away from the event, especially for our colleagues in the industrial sector," she said.
Tetty said around 60 percent of APINDO members in Deli Serdang attended the event. She also noted that the number of APINDO members in Deli Serdang had increased over a period of approximately one year.
In August 2025,
APINDO Deli Serdang had 48 member companies. The number has now increased to around 60 companies.
In Tetty's view, the increase in membership demonstrates the importance of a communication forum that brings together the interests of the government, business community, and workers. She believes good relations among the various parties can help find solutions to different labor and business-related issues.
Tetty emphasized, however, that administrative simplification and faster licensing services must be accompanied by a commitment from businesses to comply with regulations. APINDO, she said, cannot justify business activities that disregard applicable provisions.
"As chairwoman of DPK APINDO Deli Serdang, I cannot serve as a shield for colleagues who fail to comply with regulations. I do not want to play the hero afterward," she stressed.
Tetty added that APINDO would continue to serve as a bridge between the government,
business community, and workers. Through this communication, various issues can be discussed openly and solutions developed through constructive dialogue.
She expressed hope that forums such as the "Coffee Morning and Business Dialogue" could be held regularly. In this way, the government and APINDO would have a dedicated space to discuss regulatory developments, licensing issues, investment needs, and various other matters related to business activities in Deli Serdang.
This cooperation is an important part of building a business climate that provides legal certainty for companies while ensuring that all economic activities comply with applicable regulations. The government and APINDO are therefore committed to ensuring that communication is not limited to individual meetings, but continues through coordination and joint problem-solving.
