Asri Ludin Tambunan joins all participants of the awareness assembly in observing a moment of silence and praying for three ASN of the Jayawijaya Regency Government who lost their lives while serving the public, Monday, September 14, 2026.

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Deli Serdang Regent dr. H. Asri Ludin Tambunan, together with all participants at the Monday, September 14, 2026, awareness assembly, observed a moment of silence and prayed for three civil servants (ASN) from the Jayawijaya Regency Government who lost their lives while serving the public.

The tribute reflected the solidarity of the entire ASN community within the Deli Serdang Regency Government with the three officials who lost their lives while carrying out their duties as state employees. The three were killed in a shooting attack allegedly carried out by an armed criminal group (KKB) on September 9, 2026.

The three deceased ASN were Aprida Rapi, Head of the Livestock Division; Alfonsius Albinus Mehan, a veterinarian and staff member of the Agriculture Office; and Wili Mbuik, also a staff member of the Agriculture Office.

The moment of silence during the awareness assembly also served as a reminder to ASN in Deli Serdang of the great responsibility that comes with serving as government employees.

Regent Emphasizes the Meaning of Public Service

Deli Serdang Regent dr. H. Asri Ludin Tambunan said the service of the deceased ASN should serve as a reminder that working as a state employee is a mandate and responsibility that must be carried out in the interests of the public.

"Let us pray for our brothers and sisters who lost their lives while carrying out their duties as state employees. They were willing to be assigned to this region and carry out their responsibilities there until they ultimately lost their lives in service," he said.

According to Asri Ludin, the dedication of the three ASN deserves special recognition. He also called on all ASN in Deli Serdang to use the sacrifice of the three officials as an opportunity to strengthen their gratitude for the opportunity to serve the public.

He stressed that being part of the public service also carries the responsibility to provide the best possible services to the community. Therefore, every civil servant must carry out their duties with integrity and avoid actions that could harm the public.

"To those of you who still have the opportunity to work, I want to say this: Let us show our gratitude by carrying out our duties to the best of our ability, working without self-interest, not demanding illegal fees, and not making it difficult for people to take care of their affairs," he emphasized.

Taking the Sacrifice as an Example

Asri Ludin stressed that honoring the deceased colleagues should not be limited to prayers. ASN who remain in service must continue the spirit of dedication by carrying out their duties seriously and responsibly.

He reminded all ASN to provide professional services, refrain from collecting illegal fees, and avoid creating unnecessary difficulties for people who require government services.

This message also represents a concrete form of appreciation for the ASN who lost their lives while carrying out their duties. For Asri Ludin, the dedication of a civil servant is reflected not merely in the position they hold, but also in their willingness to fulfill their responsibilities in the interests of the public.

He expressed hope that the dedication of the three deceased ASN would earn them a special place and reward in the sight of God. He also prayed that the families they left behind would be given the strength to cope with their loss.

"May their dedication become a good deed, and may the families they left behind be given strength. We who have been given the opportunity to continue serving the state and the people should carry out our duties with full responsibility," he said in closing.
