DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The Deli Serdang Regency Government is continuing efforts to improve public facilities and public transportation services to meet the needs of the community. Deli Serdang Regent dr. H. Asri Ludin Tambunan personally inspected the condition of Deli Tua Market and the Deli Tua Class C Terminal on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
The visit was part of the
Deli Serdang Government's ongoing efforts to obtain a firsthand assessment of the condition of public facilities, community activities, area management, and the readiness of transportation infrastructure and supporting facilities in the Deli Tua area.
In addition to inspecting the market, the regent also checked the readiness of the Deli Tua Class C Terminal to support the Mebidang Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. The regional government is placing particular emphasis on connecting the community's economic centers with a transportation system capable of making daily mobility easier for residents.
During his visit to the Deli Tua Pajak, or market, area,
Asri Ludin Tambunan observed traders and residents carrying out their daily buying and selling activities. He also assessed cleanliness, comfort and overall order within the market area.
In his assessment, the market plays an important role as one of the community's economic activity centers. Therefore, the government needs to gradually improve the market's layout and facilities while taking into account actual conditions and needs on the ground.
"The market must be comfortable for both traders and the public. We will assess the layout and gradually make improvements according to the actual needs on the ground," he said.
Asri Ludin said the government must continuously improve public facilities and the economic centers used by the community. Such efforts are important to create better spaces for daily activities while supporting the growth of trade.
Improving the market, he added, should not be limited to physical infrastructure. The government must also consider public comfort, order within the area and environmental conditions that support economic activity.
Gradual Revamp of Deli Tua Market

Deli Tua Terminal to Support Mebidang BRT
The government is currently preparing various transportation support facilities around the Deli Tua Class C Terminal. These include traffic signs, road markings and bus stops, or so-called off-corridor stops, at several locations.
