OPENING OF HEALTHCARE FACILITY: Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan inaugurates the renovated Bintang Meriah Community Health Center (Pustu) in Pancur Batu District. The renovation is expected to improve residents' comfort and access to healthcare services.

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The Bintang Meriah Community Health Center (Pustu) in Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency, is now equipped with significantly improved and more comfortable facilities following its renovation. Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan officially inaugurated the renovated health facility on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The project is part of the regional government's efforts to improve access to healthcare services and enhance their quality for the community.

The renovation of the Bintang Meriah Pustu was not limited to upgrading the building's physical condition. The Deli Serdang Regency Government is also seeking to ensure that the facility can provide healthcare services that are closer, more accessible, and more comfortable for residents of Bintang Meriah Village and surrounding areas.

The inauguration also provided an opportunity for the regional government to ensure that the primary healthcare facility can perform its functions optimally. The improved physical condition of the facility is expected to be accompanied by higher-quality services for the community.

Renovation Aims to Improve Comfort

Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan said the government's efforts to renovate healthcare facilities are not focused solely on improving buildings. More importantly, he said, the goal is to ensure that residents receive better and more comfortable healthcare services.

"We are not only improving the building, but also the way the community receives better and more comfortable healthcare," he said.

The statement underscores that the development and improvement of healthcare facilities are part of the government's efforts to bring medical services closer to the community. As a facility located near residential areas, the Pustu plays an important role, particularly for people who need basic medical examinations without having to travel long distances.

With its improved facilities, residents are expected to find it easier to access the healthcare services provided. The Pustu can also support health examinations and regular monitoring of residents' health conditions over the long term.

The inauguration of the Bintang Meriah Pustu was positively received by residents. They viewed the changes to the facility as an improvement in comfort while also expressing hope that the renovation would be followed by better healthcare services in the future.

One resident, Ria Ginting, welcomed the significantly improved condition of the Pustu. She expressed hope that the physical improvements would also be accompanied by continued improvements in services for the community.

"From the outside, it looks much better now. The services here are also very helpful to us. Hopefully, the nicer building will also lead to even better services," she said.

Inauguration Includes Gift Distribution

In addition to the official inauguration of the renovated building, the event also featured the distribution of gifts to toddlers and pregnant women who had previously undergone examinations at the Bintang Meriah Pustu.

The gift distribution was part of the inauguration program and served as a gesture of attention toward groups that require regular health monitoring. Toddlers and pregnant women are among those who require routine examinations to continuously monitor their health conditions.

The Regent's presence at the event also gave residents an opportunity to interact directly with the head of the regional government. Following the official inauguration ceremony, Asri Ludin continued his visit by meeting with local residents.

Asri Ludin did not leave the location immediately. Instead, he sat down with residents at a warung, a small eatery located directly beside the Bintang Meriah Pustu. Over a cup of coffee, the Regent engaged in a relaxed conversation with residents and listened to their various concerns.

The meeting was simple and lacked the formal atmosphere typically associated with an official government agenda. The conversation between the Regent and residents provided an opportunity to hear their concerns directly, including various needs and challenges they face in their daily lives.

The informal exchange also created space for closer communication between the regional government and the community. Through direct dialogue, the government can gain a better understanding of conditions on the ground and the actual needs of residents.

For residents, the opportunity to speak directly with the regional head also provided a chance to convey their concerns without the usual protocol and formal atmosphere of official government meetings.

Residents Hope for Easier Healthcare Access

Community representative Mahdin Sembiring expressed hope that the renovation of the Bintang Meriah Pustu would provide tangible benefits to residents. In his view, a healthcare facility located close to residential areas can help people obtain medical services more quickly and easily.

Mahdin also hopes that improvements to the facility will continue to be accompanied by better service quality. This would ensure that residents of Bintang Meriah Village and surrounding areas not only have access to a more comfortable building but also receive healthcare services that better respond to their needs.

He said having a healthcare facility close to where people live is highly important. Residents can access medical services without having to travel long distances, particularly when basic medical examinations are required.

This expectation is in line with the government's objective of improving access to healthcare services. Modernizing primary healthcare facilities is one step toward ensuring that residents can access healthcare services conveniently and within reasonable reach.

The renovation of the Bintang Meriah Pustu also highlights the importance of maintaining the quality of healthcare facilities that have direct contact with the community. Comfortable facilities can support the delivery of medical services while providing a better environment for residents when they undergo examinations or receive treatment.

The inauguration of the Bintang Meriah Pustu was therefore more than just a ceremonial event. The Regent's presence, his direct interaction with residents, the distribution of gifts to toddlers and pregnant women, and the expectations expressed by the community representative demonstrate that improvements to healthcare facilities are closely connected to the needs of residents at the village level.

With the renovation now complete, residents of Bintang Meriah and surrounding areas have access to a better-equipped and more representative healthcare facility. Residents hope the changes will mark the beginning of continuous improvements in healthcare services, ensuring that the Pustu's services provide long-term and comprehensive benefits to the community.
