PANDEGLANG | INDATANEWS.COM - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) is supporting efforts to expand access to education for children from low-income families through the construction of the Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi 1 in Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province. Built on an 11.3-hectare site, the school has now begun operations and provides education for students at the elementary, junior secondary, and senior secondary levels.
Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi, or SRT 1 Kabupaten
Pandeglang, is part of the government's efforts to provide broader and higher-quality access to education for the public. The school complex includes not only classrooms but also residential facilities for students and teachers. The integrated environment is designed to support the learning process while encouraging students to develop independence.
Currently, 474 students attend SRT 1 Kabupaten Pandeglang. They come from Pandeglang Regency, Serang Regency, and South Tangerang City. Through its integrated school concept, students have access not only to educational facilities but also to a range of supporting facilities within the school complex.
Integrated Educational Facilities
SRT 1 Kabupaten Pandeglang has 36 classrooms serving elementary and secondary school students. The complex also includes an integrated student dormitory and teacher housing to support the educational process within a unified environment.
To support classroom activities, the school management provides computers that students can use for both learning and examinations. The facilities are intended to help students adapt to the growing demands of increasingly technology-based education.
In addition to academic facilities, the SRT 1 Kabupaten Pandeglang complex offers various facilities to encourage physical activity and support students' personal interests. These include an athletics facility, basketball court, and football field. The school also has a prayer facility and other supporting infrastructure.
The comprehensive development of the facilities provides space for holistic education. The school complex serves not only as a place for academic learning but also as an environment where students can develop character, skills, discipline, and independence.
The opening of the Masa Pengenalan Lingkungan Sekolah (MPLS), or the school environment orientation program, marked the start of operations at SRT 1 Kabupaten Pandeglang. Deputy Governor of Banten Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah officially opened the event on Friday, August 28, 2026.
On the occasion, Dimyati inspected several facilities across the school complex, including classrooms and teacher housing. The MPLS series will subsequently take place from August 31 to September 9, 2026, serving to familiarize students with their new school environment.
Following the MPLS, students will take part in a three-month matriculation program. The phase is intended to prepare students for regular classes and help them become mentally and academically prepared for the next stage of their education.

Dimyati Calls for School Facilities to Be Maintained
Deputy Governor of Banten Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah emphasized the importance of the shared responsibility of all stakeholders in ensuring the long-term operation of SRT 1 Kabupaten
Pandeglang. In his view, the existing educational facilities must be jointly maintained so they can continue to provide benefits over the long term.
"This school must be maintained and protected. I ask all stakeholders to work together to preserve it, monitor it, and continuously pay attention to the school's development. The presence of this school is an important part of expanding access to education for children from low-income families. I hope the children who study here will grow into a capable generation and have a better future," Dimyati said.
The statement underscores that SRT 1 Kabupaten
Pandeglang is not merely about constructing educational infrastructure. The government is also committed to ensuring the sustainable management and use of the facilities so the school can fulfill its educational function effectively.
With 474 students, the school is also expanding opportunities for children from low-income families to receive access to an appropriate educational environment. Students from the three aforementioned regions can pursue their education with access to learning, residential, sports, and other facilities within a single school complex.
Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi also applies an educational approach that is not focused solely on academic achievement. The three-month matriculation program serves as one of the preparatory stages designed to comprehensively prepare students for regular classes.
