RECEIVING THE SERAMBI AWARD 2026: Pidie Jaya Regent H. Sibral Malasyi receives the Serambi Award “Gebrakan Sang Pemimpin” in the “Pemimpin Sigap Tangani Bencana” category. The award recognizes his leadership and the regional government’s swift response in managing disasters and accelerating community recovery.

PIDIE JAYA | INDATANEWS.COM - Pidie Jaya Regent H. Sibral Malasyi, M.A., S.Sos., M.E., has received the Serambi Award "Gebrakan Sang Pemimpin" in the category of "Pemimpin Sigap Tangani Bencana" (Leader with Swift Disaster Response).

The award recognizes the leadership and swift action of the Pidie Jaya Regency Government in responding to disasters, accelerating the recovery of residents, and rebuilding various affected sectors.

The recognition also reflects the regional government's efforts to ensure that disaster management does not stop at immediate emergency response, but continues until residents are able to resume their social and economic activities and return to normal life.

Regent Sibral Malasyi emphasized that the award was not a personal achievement. He said the recognition was the result of the collective efforts of all parties who had been involved in responding to and addressing disasters in Pidie Jaya.

"We dedicate this award to the entire people of Pidie Jaya. This is not about me as the regent, but about our collective efforts, solidarity, and everyone's concern in dealing with disasters," Regent Sibral said.

He explained that the Pidie Jaya Regency Government, the Indonesian Military (TNI), the National Police (Polri), volunteers, the business community, residents, and many other stakeholders had played important roles in responding to disaster situations. According to Sibral, cooperation among the various parties was the key foundation for accelerating both the immediate response and the region's recovery.

Recognition of Collective Action

Regent Sibral stressed that disaster management requires the government to maintain a swift, precise, and measurable presence. The government must not only respond after a disaster occurs, but also ensure that residents receive comprehensive assistance throughout the recovery process.

In his view, the regional government must ensure that aid reaches those who need it as quickly as possible. At the same time, the government must be able to make prompt decisions and address the various needs of residents throughout the recovery period.

Disaster management also includes repairing damaged infrastructure, restoring social activities, and reviving the economic activities of residents. These measures are essential to help people return to their daily activities as quickly as possible after a disaster and improve their living conditions.

"The theme 'Pemimpin Sigap Tangani Bencana' reminds us that the government must be at the forefront when people are facing difficulties. We must act quickly, make decisions, ensure that assistance reaches the people, and accompany the recovery process until the benefits are actually felt by the community," he stressed.

Regent Sibral also viewed the award as a reminder for the regional government to continuously improve the quality of its public services. During emergencies in particular, residents need a government that can make quick decisions and maintain a direct presence in the field.

Strengthening Disaster Preparedness in the Region

Beyond recognizing the regional government's response, the experience gained from disaster management is also serving as a basis for evaluation in Pidie Jaya. Regent Sibral said these experiences should be used as an impetus to strengthen preparedness for various potential disasters in the future.

This can be achieved through improved coordination among institutions, stronger disaster preparedness measures, better infrastructure, and enhanced community capacity. The regional government must also ensure that all parties involved have sufficient understanding and the necessary readiness to respond to emergency situations.

According to Regent Sibral, residents need more than a swift government response when a disaster occurs. The government must also establish systems that reduce risks and strengthen the region's resilience so that the impact of disasters can be minimized as much as possible.

"Disasters teach us not only to respond quickly, but also to be strong in rebuilding and better prepared for the future. Our spirit is to rise together, rebuild together, and make Pidie Jaya more resilient," he said.

He expressed hope that the experience gained from disaster management in Pidie Jaya would further strengthen awareness among all sectors of society about the importance of preparedness. Through close cooperation between the government and the community, the region is expected to be better prepared for various potential disasters in the future.

Turning the Award into Motivation

Regent Sibral hopes that the Serambi Award will not remain merely a form of recognition, but will become a source of motivation for all Pidie Jaya Regency Government personnel to further improve the quality of their work and public services.

He believes the regional government must continuously strengthen its presence and services for residents, particularly when people face emergencies that require swift intervention. Prompt decision-making, targeted distribution of assistance, and consistent support throughout the recovery process are essential components of public service.

He also regards the award as an encouragement to preserve the spirit of mutual assistance and cooperation that has long been one of the strengths of the people of Pidie Jaya in overcoming various challenges.

Regent Sibral expressed his gratitude to Serambi Indonesia for the recognition. He hopes the award will provide the regional government with additional energy to continue its work and deliver the best possible services to the community.

"Thank you to Serambi Indonesia for this recognition. May this award give us additional energy to continue working and give our best to the people of Pidie Jaya," Sibral Malasyi said. (IDNC)
