AWARD AS STRATEGIC PARTNER IN DISASTER MANAGEMENT: The Aceh Government receives the award in the “Strategic Partner in Disaster Management in Aceh” category during the Serambi Awards 2026 appreciation event at AAC Dayan Dawood, Banda Aceh, on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Aceh Provincial Government was honored at the Serambi Awards 2026 during the "Gebrakan Sang Pemimpin" appreciation event. The award ceremony was held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the AAC Dayan Dawood in Banda Aceh.

The Aceh Government received the award in the category of "Strategic Partner in Disaster Management in Aceh." Acting Aceh Provincial Secretary Taufik, S.T., M.Si., accepted the award on behalf of Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf. The event also recognized several individuals and institutions for their contributions to the people of Aceh.

The award recognizes the role of the Aceh Government in building cross-sector collaboration, particularly as Aceh was affected by hydrometeorological disasters at the end of last year. The disasters caused damage and losses that directly affected the lives and livelihoods of people in several areas.

In addition to the Aceh Government, the organizers of the Serambi Awards 2026 also honored Governor Muzakir Manaf in the "Leader for a Resilient Aceh" category. Meanwhile, Marlina Muzakir, chairwoman of the Aceh PKK Team, received the award in the "Srikandi of Aceh's Recovery" category.

Several other officials and regional leaders were also recognized during the event. Among them were the Director General of Regional Administration Affairs, commonly known as Dirjen Bina Adwil; DPRA Speaker Zulfadhli; Aceh Chief Prosecutor Teuku Rahmatsyah; as well as several regents and mayors.

Collaboration as the Key to Disaster Management

In the speech delivered by Acting Provincial Secretary Taufik on behalf of the Aceh Governor, the Aceh Government expressed its appreciation to Serambi Indonesia for organizing the Serambi Awards 2026. The Aceh Government views the award not merely as a ceremonial occasion, but also as an opportunity to reflect once again on the various forms of work and commitment dedicated to the people.

According to the Aceh Governor, the people of Aceh faced difficult circumstances at the end of last year when hydrometeorological disasters struck the region. Damage to infrastructure, loss of property, and disruption to people's daily activities required a rapid response involving numerous parties.

Under these circumstances, the people demonstrated solidarity by supporting one another. The government took responsibility for disaster response and recovery efforts, while the business sector also contributed. Universities provided support, volunteers worked on the ground, and the media continued to inform the public about the situation facing the people.

The governor emphasized that all of these elements played an important role in responding to the disaster situation. The government could not act alone, as disaster management requires close cooperation among the government, the public, businesses, academic institutions, volunteers, the media, and other elements of society.

The collaboration also demonstrated that Aceh's strength in dealing with disasters does not rest solely on government policies, but also on the people's care for one another and their sense of community solidarity.

Leadership in the Midst of the Community

In the speech delivered by Taufik, the Aceh Governor also highlighted that leadership during difficult times does not always have to be demonstrated through major decisions. Leadership can also be reflected in concrete actions and the commitment of various parties when people need support.

The governor illustrated this form of leadership through officials who went directly to communities, medical personnel who continued providing services, and teachers who resumed teaching after the disaster. Volunteers also demonstrated leadership through their humanitarian work in affected areas.

A similar commitment was seen in the business sector, which sought to preserve jobs despite the difficult circumstances. At the same time, journalists played an important role by ensuring that the voices and conditions of the people continued to be heard and brought to public attention.

This perspective views the award not merely as recognition for an individual or institution, but also as a reminder of the responsibility to continue creating tangible benefits for society.

The Aceh Government regards the award received at the Serambi Awards 2026 as a mandate to continue its work and commitment. The award should not be seen as an end goal, but rather as an encouragement to maintain the spirit of serving the people.

"The best measure of an award is not how long our name is mentioned, but how long the benefits of what we do can be experienced by others," Taufik said while delivering the message from the Aceh Governor.

Momentum for a Stronger and More Prosperous Aceh

The Aceh Governor expressed hope that the spirit of community, collaboration, sincerity, and consistency in service would be maintained. These values are considered essential to supporting reconstruction while moving Aceh toward a better future.

The Aceh Government continues to face the challenge of strengthening the economy, improving the quality of public services, and promoting the welfare of the people. These efforts require continuous work as well as the involvement of various stakeholders.

The Serambi Awards 2026 also provided an opportunity to recognize those who have taken responsibility for the development and recovery of Aceh. The award presented to the Aceh Government as "Strategic Partner in Disaster Management in Aceh" further underscores the importance of collective efforts in addressing problems that have far-reaching consequences for the community.

For the Aceh Government, the award serves as a reminder that every effort must be directed toward creating tangible benefits for the people. This spirit is expected to be maintained throughout post-disaster recovery efforts and Aceh's continued development.

Through cooperation between the government and all elements of society, Aceh is expected to recover on a stronger foundation. Strengthening the economy, improving public services, and creating greater prosperity for the people are among the goals that must be pursued consistently and sustainably.

The awards presented to the Aceh Government, Governor Muzakir Manaf, and Marlina Muzakir at the Serambi Awards 2026 ultimately represent more than recognition of the work accomplished so far. They are also intended to encourage all stakeholders to preserve solidarity, strengthen cooperation, and create tangible benefits for the people of Aceh. (IDNC)
