BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING: Acting Secretary of the Aceh Provincial Government, Taufik, S.T., M.Si., attends a Budget Committee meeting with the DPRA in Banda Aceh on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. During the meeting, he called on the legislature to strengthen communication and cooperation in supporting Aceh’s development.

BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - Acting Secretary of the Aceh Provincial Government, Taufik, S.T., M.Si., has called on the Aceh House of Representatives (DPRA) to strengthen consolidation and communication in supporting regional development. In his view, cooperation between the Aceh Government and the legislative body is a crucial factor in ensuring that various policies and development programs are implemented in line with the interests of the people.

Taufik made the appeal while attending a meeting of the Budget Committee with the DPRA on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in the DPRA Budget Committee meeting room in Banda Aceh. The meeting focused on the draft Aceh Qanun concerning accountability for the implementation of the Aceh Regional Budget (APBA) for the 2025 fiscal year.

The meeting also marked Taufik's first official working engagement since assuming the position of Acting Secretary of the Aceh Provincial Government. On the occasion, he emphasized the importance of unity and stronger cooperation between the executive and legislative branches, particularly in discussing strategic issues directly related to development and public services.

Strengthening Executive-Legislative Communication

Taufik said effective communication between the Aceh Government and the DPRA could accelerate the discussion and implementation of various development programs. In his view, coordinated communication is necessary so that both institutions can carry out their respective responsibilities while keeping the interests of the public at the center of their work.

"The executive and legislative branches must work together in communication to further improve Aceh's development in the future," Taufik told DPRA members.

He described a harmonious relationship between the government and parliament as an important factor in jointly finding solutions to various development challenges. Open communication, he added, could also strengthen the policy deliberation process, ensuring that decisions made genuinely reflect the needs of the people of Aceh.

Taufik further emphasized that the Aceh Government needs the support and input of the DPRA in implementing various development agendas. For that reason, he said he would provide the widest possible space for communication so that discussions between the executive and legislative branches could take place constructively.

Implementing Mualem–Dek Fadh's Directives

According to Taufik, strengthening communication with the DPRA is also part of implementing the directives of Aceh Governor and Deputy Governor Mualem–Dek Fadh. He said both leaders had instructed the executive branch to continuously maintain harmony with all stakeholders, particularly the legislative body.

He explained that the directive is an important part of building an effective government that can respond to the needs of the people. Accordingly, the Aceh Government must maintain a good working relationship with the DPRA so that every development agenda can receive appropriate support and consideration.

Taufik added that openness and cooperation between the executive and legislative branches should not be limited to a formal institutional relationship. Both sides need to build a productive partnership so that every policy formulated by the government and deliberated by the legislature can deliver tangible benefits to the people.

"Close cooperation is not merely a bureaucratic formality, but concerns the welfare of the wider community and the acceleration of various strategic programs in Aceh," Taufik said.

He expressed hope that the increasingly solid relationship between the Aceh Government and the DPRA would create a constructive working environment. Through intensive communication, he said, both sides could align their respective positions while identifying at an early stage various issues that could hinder the implementation of development programs.

APBA 2025 Deliberations Expected to Run Smoothly

During the Budget Committee meeting, the Aceh Government and the DPRA discussed the draft Aceh Qanun on accountability for the implementation of the APBA for the 2025 fiscal year. The deliberation is an important part of the accountability process for the management of regional budget funds and also serves as an evaluation of APBA implementation during the previous year.

Taufik expressed hope that stronger cooperation between the Aceh Government and the DPRA would contribute to a smooth deliberation process on the draft Qanun. At the same time, he hoped the process would result in targeted policies that would benefit communities throughout Aceh.

In his view, the government needs the perspectives and input of DPRA members to further improve various policies. Legislative contributions can serve as a basis for evaluation while also strengthening the government's efforts to implement its development programs.

"We ask for good cooperation. Let us work together and make Aceh a better place. As this is my first meeting in my capacity as Acting Secretary of the Provincial Government, we are very open and ask our colleagues in the DPRA for their input and suggestions," he said in closing.

The statement underscores Taufik's commitment to open communication at the beginning of his tenure as Acting Secretary of the Aceh Provincial Government. He wants the working relationship between the Aceh Government and the DPRA to develop into a partnership that strengthens development efforts and accelerates the fulfillment of the people's needs.

Through stronger consolidation and sustained communication, the Aceh Government and the DPRA are expected to carry out their respective responsibilities more effectively. Cooperation between the two institutions is also an important foundation for ensuring that Aceh's development agenda is implemented according to established priorities and delivers greater benefits to the people.
