DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - A total of 1,560 women across Deli Serdang Regency have undergone cervical cancer screening since the mobile IVA screening service was launched in May 2026. The Deli Serdang Regency Government and the TP PKK continue to work to expand the use of the mobile service and provide women with better access to regular health screenings.
The program is one of the innovations presented by the Deli Serdang Regency TP PKK during the assessment of the 10 Core PKK Programs in the IVA Test category at the North Sumatra provincial level, held in Lubuk Pakam on Monday, August 24, 2026. The North Sumatra Provincial TP PKK assessment team directly observed the operation of the IVA Test Mobile unit and monitored the screening process for residents at the Uncle Sam Hall.
The IVA Test Mobile is part of the Pas Cerdik program (Healthcare for Cancer Prevention through Regular IVA Tests). The program was established to bring IVA screening services closer to women in various areas. As a result, women no longer have to regularly travel to health facilities located far from their homes.
Since its launch in May 2026, the IVA Test Mobile has reached 20 of the 22 districts in Deli Serdang. The regional government and the TP PKK developed the mobile service as a joint initiative to raise women's awareness of the importance of regular health screenings, particularly for the early detection of cervical cancer.
IVA Test Mobile Reaches 20 Districts
The Chairwoman of the Deli Serdang Regency TP PKK, Jelita Asri Ludin Tambunan, welcomed the visit of the North Sumatra Provincial TP PKK assessment team, which came to observe firsthand the implementation of the IVA Test program.
Jelita also expressed her appreciation to TP PKK representatives at the district level, cadres, healthcare workers, and all parties supporting the mobile service. In her view, support from various stakeholders had enabled Deli Serdang's IVA Test program to reach the provincial-level assessment stage.
"This is a source of pride for us, particularly for the PKK leadership. The support provided by the Deli Serdang Government shows that women's health is receiving serious attention. We must continue promoting IVA testing because mothers and women play an important role in building healthy families," she said.
Jelita explained that Deli Serdang had ranked among the six best regions in all categories of the assessment of the 10 Core PKK Programs at the North Sumatra provincial level. She described the achievement as the result of cooperation and joint efforts that had been continuously developed over the past two years.
"I am proud and deeply moved by this achievement. We are not only representing the name of Deli Serdang, but also bringing benefits to all women and families here. I would like to thank everyone involved and all stakeholders. Without their support, we certainly would not have reached this point," she said.
According to Jelita, the results of the provincial-level assessment should not merely be viewed as an achievement for the PKK organization. More importantly, the IVA Test program must provide tangible benefits for women and families throughout Deli Serdang Regency.

Deli Serdang Government Focuses on Tangible Impact
Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan also expressed his support for the implementation of the IVA Test program. He said the program was in line with the regional government's efforts to improve the health status of the community, particularly women's access to healthcare services.
Asri Ludin stressed that the government must ensure every facility available provides a direct benefit to the public. He therefore urged women to make optimal use of the IVA Test Mobile whenever the service is available in their respective areas.
"From May until today, the IVA Test Mobile has already operated in 20 of the 22 districts and screened around 1,560 women in Deli Serdang Regency. So far, there have been no suspected cases among them. This means that the women in Deli Serdang are healthy," he said.
He emphasized that women's health plays a central role in building healthy and stable families. The Deli Serdang Government, he added, would continue to support various programs aimed at improving women's access to and the quality of healthcare services.
"We want everything we have to create an impact. This first mobile unit in the province, and even on the island of Sumatra, is a resource entrusted to us. It must be returned to the community so that it can be used as effectively as possible and deliver the greatest possible benefit," he said.
The regent also called on all stakeholders to view the assessment process as part of efforts to improve public services. The assessment results, he said, should be accepted objectively, whether they highlight positive achievements or identify areas that still need improvement.
"Regardless of the assessment results, an objectively conducted evaluation will certainly provide motivation and encouragement while also serving as a corrective measure in delivering services to the public. Every activity requires evaluation, improvement, and feedback," he said.
According to Asri Ludin, the assessment helps the government and TP PKK review the implementation of programs in the field. In this way, existing shortcomings can serve as a basis for improvement, while well-performing programs can be further developed so that their benefits can reach an even wider community.

Assessment Strengthens Continued Support
The Secretary of Working Group IV of the North Sumatra Provincial TP PKK, Rina Hafni Lubis, who represented the Chairwoman of the North Sumatra Provincial TP PKK, commended Deli Serdang and its cadres for reaching the assessment stage.
She explained that the assessment of the 10 Core PKK Programs was part of a gradual mentoring process. It begins with an administrative assessment and is followed by direct field monitoring to verify the actual implementation of the programs.
"This achievement is the result of commitment and hard work. The assessment is part of the mentoring process, which begins with an administrative review and continues through field monitoring to see how extensively the 10 Core PKK Programs have been implemented," she said.
Rina stressed that the assessment was not solely intended to determine the best region or the best program. It also serves as a platform to strengthen mentoring, encourage new innovations, and improve the quality of PKK programs in each region.
"We hope the Regency TP PKK will continue to provide guidance to the districts so that the achievements made can be further improved. Let us strengthen cooperation and innovation," she said in closing.
The assessment in Lubuk Pakam was also attended by Deli Serdang Regional Secretary Dedy Maswardi, as well as representatives of various government agencies and institutions. Also present were Forkopimcam Lubuk Pakam, TP PKK cadres, healthcare workers, and numerous invited guests.
With 1,560 women screened and the service expanded to 20 districts, the IVA Test Mobile has become an important part of Deli Serdang's efforts to improve women's access to early detection of health problems. The regional government and TP PKK are expected to ensure the sustainability of the program and expand its reach to all districts so that more women can receive regular health screenings. (IDNC)
