DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM- The Deli Serdang Regency Government has handed over two buses to strengthen public services for the community. One bus will be used as a school bus in Sibolangit District, while the second will operate as a mobile library for the Deli Serdang Regency Library and Archives Agency.
The handover of the two vehicles took place on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the
Deli Serdang Regent's Office compound.
Deli Serdang Regent dr. H. Asri Ludin Tambunan and Regional Secretary Dedy Maswardi were personally present at the ceremony.
The school bus is intended to support the transportation needs of students in Sibolangit District. Meanwhile, the mobile library is expected to expand the reach of reading promotion and library services provided by the Deli Serdang Library and Archives Agency. The initiative is aimed at making it easier for people in various areas to access books and benefit from library services.
School Bus Improves Access to Education
Deli Serdang Regency Government General Affairs Head Agung Triyanto handed over the school bus to Sibolangit District Head Muhammad Arif Budiman. The regency government provided the bus as one of the facilities to support educational services for the community, particularly students in Sibolangit District.
The
school bus is expected to provide students with better access to transportation for their educational activities. The
Deli Serdang Government also expects the district administration to manage and operate the vehicle in accordance with its intended purpose and the actual needs of the community.
At the same time, the Deli Serdang Government handed over a bus to serve as a mobile library as part of efforts to expand the reach of reading promotion programs. The Education Agency, represented by its Secretary Samsuar, handed over the vehicle to Muhammad Salim, Head of the Deli Serdang Regency Library and Archives Agency.
The
mobile library is intended to serve as a tool for the Library and Archives Agency to bring library services closer to the community. The vehicle can particularly help provide reading materials to areas where residents have limited access to permanent library facilities.

Deli Serdang Regent dr. H. Asri Ludin Tambunan called for both vehicles to provide tangible benefits to the community. He emphasized the importance of operating the buses in accordance with the functions designated by the regency government.
"We hope these buses will be utilized optimally and operated according to their intended purposes to support
public services," he said.
According to the regent, the school bus is not merely about providing transportation for students, but is also part of the government's efforts to improve access to education. The mobile library, meanwhile, has a strategic role in giving more people the opportunity to access books and make use of library services.
