DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Deli Serdang district government has unveiled its 2027 development strategy, focusing on ten strategic sectors expected to have the greatest impact on public prosperity. The priorities were announced during the Musyawarah Perencanaan Pembangunan (Musrenbang) for the 2027 Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Cendana Hall, 2nd floor of Deli Serdang City Hall.
The event aimed to make development programs more targeted, measurable, and effective—moving away from routine approaches.
Under the theme "Accelerating Healthy, Inclusive, and Sustainable Regional Development," the district government emphasized that planning alone is not enough. Implementation and direct benefits for residents are now at the forefront of the strategy.

Regent Emphasizes Measurable Impact of Development
Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan stated that development projects should do more than consume budget resources—they must deliver tangible benefits to the public.

He stressed that a mindset shift in governance is essential. Development should not be purely administrative but should sustainably raise living standards.
"It's not about just spending the budget and being accountable on paper—it's about initiatives that foster societal progress," Regent Asri emphasized.

For 2027, the Deli Serdang government has defined ten strategic priorities to guide regional development. The foremost priority is equitable distribution and improved quality of public services, particularly in health and education. Simultaneously, productivity in agriculture, fisheries, and small-to-medium enterprises will be boosted to stimulate the regional economy.
Another focus is human capital development, promoting culturally informed, innovative individuals and encouraging active participation from the public, businesses, and academia. In infrastructure, accelerated expansion of roads and bridges is planned, along with traffic management improvements at strategic points such as Kampung Lalang, Tanjung Morawa, and Lubuk Pakam.

By the end of 2026, Deli Serdang aims to achieve the UHC Prioritas category to ensure assistance reaches those in need. Fiscal capacity and public safety improvements are also on the agenda.
Moreover, the government is advancing performance-based governance. Departments that design programs aligned with public needs will receive additional funding. Regent Asri reiterated that the focus is not on fund allocation alone but on measures that sustainably elevate living standards and deliver broad societal benefits.

North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution described 2027 as a phase of expansion, stating that all planned development initiatives must be fully implemented to maximize public benefits.
"Planning should not be repetitive but data-driven and results-oriented," the Governor said through Dikky Anugerah Panjaitan, head of the Regional Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency.
According to Remus Hasiholan Pardede, head of Bappedalitbang Deli Serdang, the proposals were coordinated using both top-down and bottom-up approaches, involving all relevant stakeholders.
