BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM ~ After more than two months of severe water supply disruptions, residents in Tanjung Sengkuang and Batu Merah, located in Batu Ampar district, are finally receiving clean water again. Authorities, supported by police supervision, have ensured that distribution reaches households directly to restore essential services.
The operation was carried out on Thursday, March 26, 2026, following prolonged shortages that had significantly affected daily life in the affected communities.
Police Ensure Orderly Distribution
The Batu Ampar Police Sector took an active role in coordinating and securing the distribution process.
The operation was led directly by Police Commissioner Amru Abdullah, alongside officers and local security personnel.
Authorities monitored all distribution points, maintained order, and escorted water deliveries to residential areas to ensure smooth and secure operations.
"This supervision is aimed at ensuring that distribution runs efficiently, safely, and reaches the intended recipients," said Amru Abdullah.

Water Delivered Across Multiple Neighborhoods
In Tanjung Sengkuang, a total of 75 water tanks were distributed across several neighborhood units. The distribution was carried out in phases, although some areas had yet to receive supply on the same day.
Meanwhile, Batu Merah received an additional 12 water tanks, also allocated across multiple residential zones. Priority was given to areas most severely impacted by the water crisis.
Operation Proceeds Without Incident
The distribution and monitoring process continued until approximately 9:00 p.m. local time and was reported to have proceeded without any security-related incidents.
Police reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding public welfare while ensuring a sense of safety during the distribution process.
"The police are committed to overseeing the delivery of clean water so residents can meet their basic needs," Amru Abdullah emphasized. (IDNC)
