TANGERANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) Agus Andrianto, together with Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) General TNI (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, visited and greeted children under care at correctional guidance facilities across Indonesia ahead of the 2026 National Children's Day (Hari Anak Nasional/HAN).
The event was held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the Class I Special Child Correctional Institution (LPKA) Tangerang and was followed virtually by
children under care from various LPKA facilities throughout Indonesia. During the occasion, the children had the opportunity to interact directly with
Agus Andrianto and
Dudung Abdurachman in a warm atmosphere that reflected a close father-and-child relationship.
The visit was part of the government's efforts to provide attention, motivation, and support for children undergoing guidance and education programs during their development process. Through HAN 2026, the government aims to ensure that every child continues to receive their rights to grow, obtain education, and build a better future.
The activities at
LPKA Tangerang were enlivened by various creative performances presented by the
children under care. They welcomed
Agus Andrianto and
Dudung Abdurachman with a Marawis musical performance. In addition, the children performed a collaboration between Angklung music and a band that presented the song "Ayo Ngopi," composed by Dudung.
Agus and Dudung also directly inspected various facilities for guidance and development at LPKA Tangerang. They visited classrooms, vocational skills workshops, the Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) room equipped with a library, the kitchen area, and workshop facilities.
Developing Children's Talents as a Foundation for the Future
Agus stated that Dudung Abdurachman's presence provided additional motivation for children under care. He emphasized that every child possesses potential and talents that can be developed through proper guidance and support.
"They have talents. Hopefully, they can learn from their current situation so that when they return to society, they will be ready to contribute and support the government in developing Indonesia," Agus said in his statement on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
Agus also reminded the children to use their time at LPKA as an opportunity to improve themselves and prepare for the future.
"Make your time at LPKA a valuable foundation for yourselves. This is also a commitment for our officers to continue carrying out their duties," he said.
According to Agus, guidance programs at LPKA facilities are not only aimed at fulfilling children's rights but also at strengthening their character, skills, and readiness to reintegrate into society.

Dudung Delivers Optimistic Message to Children Under Care
Meanwhile,
Dudung Abdurachman emphasized that the state's presence during National Children's Day represents its concern for all Indonesian children, including those currently undergoing guidance at LPKA facilities.
Dudung encouraged the children to remain grateful and make the most of educational and development opportunities available during their time at LPKA.
"You must be grateful that you continue to receive guidance, education, and proper care. Everyone makes mistakes, but God appreciates those who are able to overcome their trials," Dudung said.
He also urged the children not to remain focused on their past mistakes but instead concentrate on self-improvement and preparing for their future.
"Do not look back. Give your best today, and the future is a goal that you must fight for. Your future is still bright. You must have goals, remain optimistic, and maintain hope," he added.
Dudung believes every child has the opportunity to grow and achieve their dreams as long as they have the willingness to learn and the determination to change. He hopes the children will use their time in care as a valuable experience to build a better life.
Children Under Care Still Hold Great Hopes
Previously, Deputy Governor of Banten R. Achmad Dimyati Natakusumah stated that children under care still have significant opportunities to achieve a better future. He stressed that the government has a responsibility to educate and accompany them so they can continue to develop.
"Children can become anything. They can still become generals, while we can no longer do so. They can still be directed in many ways. As parents, we must be able to educate them," he said.
Dimyati explained that some children enter LPKA facilities due to various factors, including inadequate parenting environments. Therefore, they require support and attention from many parties.
"They need mentors. Hopefully, in the future, they will become children with integrity, dedication, and benefits for the nation and the state," he hoped.
During the event, Agus Andrianto and Dudung Abdurachman distributed stationery packages to children under care at LPKA Tangerang. In addition, children under care throughout Indonesia who meet administrative and substantive requirements will receive sentence reductions as part of the 2026 National Children's Day program.
The granting of these rights is in accordance with child protection principles as regulated under Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System and Law Number 22 of 2022 concerning the Corrections System.
National Children's Day 2026 will be commemorated on Thursday, July 23, 2026. The occasion serves as a reminder for all stakeholders to strengthen their commitment to protecting and building the future of Indonesian children, including those currently undergoing guidance programs at LPKA facilities.
HAN 2026 carries the theme "Love Children, Protect Them, and Build the Future" as a collective call to provide every child with opportunities for development, education, and protection.
