The event, led by North Sumatra Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, focused on monitoring and assisting the implementation of additional budget allocations to ensure they are used effectively and provide immediate benefits for affected communities.
North Sumatra Seeks Continuation of TKD Support in 2027
In his remarks, Governor Bobby Nasution expressed hope that the central government would continue providing regional transfer funds for disaster-affected areas in 2027 at a level comparable to the allocation provided in 2026.
Bobby said the financial support remains urgently needed because several regions are still dealing with the impacts of disasters, particularly in restoring the economic activities of affected communities.
"We hope that TKD funds for disaster-affected regions in 2027 will remain at the same level as in 2026. Our hope is that TKD in 2027 can return to the level of 2026," Bobby said.
According to Bobby, the additional funds must be directed toward various programs that create tangible impacts for the public. These programs include not only infrastructure development but also non-physical initiatives aimed at accelerating social and economic recovery.
He also called on district and city governments to continue strengthening coordination and cooperation in implementing rehabilitation and development programs in disaster-affected areas.
"We are committed to ensuring the proper use of the allocated TKD funds. We are ready to have the implementation monitored both today and in the future," he stated.
