BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Aceh Regional Police (Polda Aceh) held a farewell parade on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the Aceh Police Headquarters compound to mark the official handover of the Aceh Police Chief position. The ceremony signified the leadership transition from Inspector General of Police (Irjen Pol.) Drs. Marzuki Ali Basyah, M.M., to the newly appointed Aceh Police Chief, Irjen Pol. Ruddi Setiawan, S.I.K., S.H., M.H.
The main highlight of the ceremony was the handover of the Polda Aceh standard, known as "Machdum Sakti," from Irjen Pol. Marzuki Ali Basyah to Irjen Pol. Ruddi Setiawan. The symbolic transfer represented the continuation of leadership responsibilities and the commitment to maintaining security while improving public services for the people of Aceh.
The solemn ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief of Aceh Police Brigadier General (Brigjen Pol.) Ari Wahyu Widodo, S.I.K., the Aceh Police Inspector, senior officials of Polda Aceh, district police chiefs, all personnel of Polda Aceh, as well as Chairwoman of Bhayangkari Aceh Ny. Sari Ruddi Setiawan, Ny. Ira Marzuki, leaders of Bhayangkari branches, and the Bhayangkari Aceh board members.

Leadership Transition Brings New Momentum for Organization
In his farewell speech, Irjen Pol. Marzuki Ali Basyah stated that leadership transitions are a natural part of organizational dynamics. He emphasized that the transition aims to ensure continuity of service, create new motivation, and strengthen the ability of Polda Aceh in addressing various future challenges.
"The transfer of duty is a continuation of the mandate to provide the best possible service to the community," he said.
Irjen Pol. Marzuki emphasized that the achievements of Polda Aceh during his leadership were the result of collective efforts from all police personnel. He expressed his appreciation to all members for their loyalty, dedication, solidarity, and cooperation in carrying out institutional duties.
According to him, organizational achievements cannot be separated from the contribution of every personnel member who has carried out their respective responsibilities with full commitment. Therefore, he encouraged all members of Polda Aceh to continue maintaining the spirit of teamwork and unity in facing future challenges.
Irjen Pol. Marzuki welcomed Irjen Pol. Ruddi Setiawan as the new
Aceh Police Chief and congratulated him on his new assignment. He expressed hope that all members of Polda Aceh would provide full support to the new leader so the organization could continue operating effectively and improve services for the public.
Furthermore, Marzuki called on all personnel to strengthen the spirit of "Polda Aceh Meutuah" through close cooperation with the regional government, the Indonesian Military (TNI), Islamic scholars, community leaders, and all elements of society.
He stressed the importance of maintaining security and public order (kamtibmas) to ensure Aceh remains stable and peaceful. At the same time, he reminded police officers to uphold the dignity of the institution through professional, humane, and responsible actions while avoiding any form of misconduct.
Irjen Pol. Marzuki also urged all personnel to preserve unity and continue developing their capabilities in order to carry out their roles as protectors, supporters, and servants of the community.
At the end of his remarks, Irjen Pol. Marzuki apologized for any shortcomings during his tenure as
Aceh Police Chief. He also expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation provided by the entire Polda Aceh family.
"Thank you for the cooperation, loyalty, solidarity, and dedication of the entire Polda Aceh family. May Allah SWT always provide us with guidance, protection, and strength to continue serving society, the nation, and the state," he said.

The newly appointed
Aceh Police Chief, Irjen Pol. Ruddi Setiawan, expressed his gratitude for the trust given to him to lead Polda Aceh. He stated his commitment to continuing the positive programs initiated by previous leadership.
Irjen Pol. Ruddi announced that various innovations would be introduced to improve the quality of public services, personnel development, and the implementation of a precise, community-oriented, and citizen-focused policing approach.
According to Ruddi, leadership changes are part of organizational development that bring new energy without abandoning the foundations and achievements established by previous leaders.
He also explained that he has a special emotional connection with Aceh, as he previously served in 2021 as Director of Narcotics Investigation at Polda Aceh. The experience, he said, became an important foundation for carrying out his new responsibility as Aceh Police Chief.
"Returning to Aceh is an honor and an opportunity to once again serve together with all police personnel and maintain security and public order stability," Irjen Pol. Ruddi said.
On the occasion, Irjen Pol. Ruddi praised Irjen Pol. Marzuki Ali Basyah for his dedication and achievements during his leadership of Polda Aceh.
He called on all police personnel to continue maintaining unity, loyalty, discipline, and professionalism as the foundation for delivering the best service to the community.
"The success of an institution can only be achieved when all personnel share the same spirit, goals, and commitment to provide the best service for the people of Aceh," emphasized the former Head of the Indonesian National Police Research and Development Center (Kapuslitbang Polri).
Irjen Pol. Ruddi then requested prayers, support, cooperation, and constructive input from all personnel so he could carry out his duties as
Aceh Police Chief optimally.
Traditional Ceremonies Mark Aceh Police Leadership Handover
Before the main ceremony began, Irjen Pol. Ruddi underwent a series of traditional welcoming rituals as the new
Aceh Police Chief. The ceremony started with an honor formation, unit report, flower presentation, traditional Acehnese dance performance, and the Pedang Pora ceremonial sword guard tradition.
The welcoming ceremony continued inside the lobby of the Aceh Police Headquarters, where Ruddi was directly welcomed by Irjen Pol. Drs. Marzuki Ali Basyah, M.M., accompanied by his wife.
Following the ceremony, the event continued with a unit report and the signing of the official handover document at the Machdum Sakti Hall of the Satya Haprabu Building, Polda Aceh.
Meanwhile, the Chairwoman of Bhayangkari Aceh attended the Bhayangkari plenary meeting and the handover of supervision for female police officers (Ibu Asuh Polwan) at the Presisi Building.
