"This is a signal that our economic fundamentals are strong. One of the key drivers is the growing entrepreneurial spirit among the younger generation," he said.

He highlighted several key indicators, including economic growth at 4.53 percent, investments exceeding IDR 58 trillion, and a steadily declining unemployment rate.

HIPMI Encouraged to Enter Global Markets

Sulaiman stressed that HIPMI plays a strategic role in guiding local businesses toward international expansion. He urged the organization not to focus solely on domestic markets but to actively pursue global opportunities.

HIPMI, he noted, is an important government partner in building an inclusive and sustainable economy amid global uncertainty.

Focus on Transformation and Sustainable Growth

Sulaiman also outlined five key recommendations for HIPMI members, including shifting from raw material exports to high-value products to strengthen global competitiveness.

He further emphasized the importance of sustainable and environmentally friendly business practices, as well as the use of digital technology to improve efficiency and market reach.

In addition, he called for stronger support for more than 100,000 micro-entrepreneurs in North Sumatra to help them scale up their businesses. New investments, he added, should also ensure technology transfer for local players.

Meanwhile, BPD HIPMI North Sumatra Chairman Dian Iskandar Nasution welcomed the provincial government's support, saying it provides new energy for strengthening young entrepreneurs' competitiveness.

"This forum serves as a space for exchange and collaboration. We hope it generates new ideas for regional development," he said.

He added that the event is expected to produce concrete work programs and innovative solutions for creating new technology-driven employment opportunities. (IDNC)
