DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Deputy Regent Lom Lom Suwondo attended the Volksfest organized by Infantry Battalion Yonif TP 852/Abhinaya Bala Yudha (ABY) on Friday evening (April 10, 2026), held at Gelora Rata Football Field in Sugiharjo Village, Batang Kuis District.
In his speech, Lom Lom expressed appreciation to Yonif TP 852/ABY, the Sugiharjo village administration, and all parties involved in initiating and organizing the event. He emphasized that strong collaboration between institutions can deliver tangible benefits to the public.
"This activity proves that synergy between the military, government, and the community can be effectively implemented and provide real impact for society," he said.
SMEs as a Key Economic DriverLom Lom stressed that the Volksfest is not merely a public entertainment event but also plays a strategic role in supporting the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (SMEs).
According to him, the SME booths provided local entrepreneurs with valuable opportunities to showcase products, expand market access, and increase their income. Such initiatives are considered essential in strengthening the regional economy.
The event was further enlivened by performances from local artists, offering a platform for regional talent to gain exposure and demonstrate their capabilities.

Strengthening Military and Government SynergyLom Lom also highlighted the role of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) as an integral part of society. He noted that the military originates from the people, works alongside them, and serves their interests.
He added that the presence of Yonif TP 852/ABY contributes significantly to maintaining security and stability in the region, while also fostering a sense of safety and comfort among residents.
"With this battalion present, we hope the community can carry out their activities peacefully and productively. It is also a strategic partner for the regional government in advancing development and strengthening harmonious relations between the military and civilians," he stated.
He further emphasized that the sense of togetherness created through the event is an important social capital in driving regional progress, in line with the vision of a healthy, educated, prosperous, and sustainable Deli Serdang.

Encouraging Community Participation
Concluding his remarks, Lom Lom called on residents to maintain unity, strengthen mutual cooperation, and uphold security and order throughout the event to ensure all activities run smoothly.
Meanwhile, Yonif TP 852/ABY Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Eko Damuna, expressed his appreciation for the successful organization of the Volksfest. He also thanked the community and SME participants who contributed to the event.
He explained that the initiative aims to promote the development of SMEs and home industries in Deli Serdang, particularly in Pantai Labu and Batang Kuis districts. In addition, the event is intended to strengthen ties between the military, police, and the community, while providing entertainment for residents.
"Essentially, the people are the mother of the TNI. Therefore, the TNI and the people must always remain united," he emphasized.
The event series will continue until Sunday, featuring various entertainment programs, live music performances, and joint tree-planting activities involving soldiers and local residents.
