BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - Acting Secretary of the Aceh Provincial Government Taufik received the Head of the Administration of the Arun Lhokseumawe Special Economic Zone (SEZ Arun), the Director of PT Patriot Nusantara Aceh, and the President Director of PT Pembangunan Aceh for a meeting at the Aceh Provincial Secretary's meeting room on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
The meeting focused on the development of the area and the utilization of land available within the Arun
Lhokseumawe Special Economic Zone. The
Aceh Provincial Government and the parties involved also discussed several outstanding issues requiring further coordination and follow-up measures to support the development of the area.
The meeting was part of the Aceh Provincial Government's efforts to strengthen coordination with various institutions responsible for the management and development of the area. Particular attention was given to the utilization of available land and the necessary steps to address various issues that remain unresolved within SEZ Arun.
Aceh Provincial Government Strengthens Coordination
Taufik said the Aceh Provincial Government would continue coordinating with relevant authorities so that various issues related to the development of SEZ Arun could be addressed according to their respective mandates and responsibilities.
He said coordination was an important part of ensuring that matters concerning
land utilization were properly addressed. The
Aceh Provincial Government would also communicate with the central government when issues required cross-sectoral or intergovernmental coordination.
"Issues related to land utilization and the development of SEZ Arun must be coordinated jointly, including with the central government, so that each issue can be discussed and followed up in accordance with applicable regulations," Taufik said.
Taufik emphasized that the
Aceh Provincial Government would not address
land utilization issues solely from the perspective of regional administration. Coordination with relevant ministries and institutions at the national level would also form part of the discussions to ensure that every development step in the area was based on a clear legal framework and well-defined procedures.
He said the approach was necessary because the development of an economic zone involved various interests and areas of authority. Therefore, the Aceh Provincial Government called on all parties to carry out their respective duties and responsibilities.

Land Utilization at SEZ Arun in Focus
During the meeting, the participants discussed various aspects of
land utilization within the Arun
Lhokseumawe SEZ. The discussions covered, among other things, the condition of available land and various obstacles that have so far prevented its optimal utilization.
The Aceh Provincial Government considers land utilization an important component of the area's continued development. Existing issues therefore need to be jointly identified and addressed so they do not hinder the development agenda of SEZ Arun.
The discussions between the
Aceh Provincial Government and the parties involved also aimed to identify areas requiring further coordination. This approach is intended to ensure that individual issues are addressed according to the respective mandates and responsibilities of each party.
In addition to the regional administration and the zone's management, the involvement of the central government is also an important part of the coordination process. The Aceh Provincial Government therefore plans to continue communicating with relevant ministries and institutions in Jakarta to discuss issues concerning the utilization of available land within SEZ Arun.
Cross-sectoral coordination at the government level is expected to facilitate a more comprehensive discussion of various issues related to the area. At the same time, the coordination process will allow the
Aceh Provincial Government to convey the area's current conditions and development needs to the central government.

Further Coordination with Central Government
Taufik said the Aceh Provincial Government needed to establish further coordination with relevant ministries and institutions in Jakarta. The step is part of efforts to address land utilization issues that do not fall entirely within the authority of the regional government.
Through such coordination, each issue can be discussed jointly with institutions that have the appropriate authority. At the same time, the
Aceh Provincial Government can ensure that follow-up measures on various outstanding issues are implemented in accordance with applicable regulations.
The development of the Arun Lhokseumawe SEZ requires synergy among the regional government, zone management, businesses, and the central government. Communication among institutions is therefore an important component of the area's continued development.
During the meeting, the
Aceh Provincial Government and the parties involved aligned their understanding of the issues requiring attention. The results of the discussions will subsequently serve as a basis for determining further coordination steps, particularly with relevant ministries and institutions at the national level.
Taufik was accompanied at the meeting by Assistant II to the Secretary of the Aceh Provincial Government, along with several heads of provincial government work units and relevant offices.
The presence of representatives from various administrative sectors underscored the cross-sectoral involvement in discussions concerning the development of
SEZ Arun. The
Aceh Provincial Government will continue coordination according to the needs and respective authorities of the parties involved so that various issues related to
land utilization can be followed up.
