DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The Deli Serdang Regency Government has reaffirmed its support for empowering women through the development of cooperatives and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The regional administration views women as strategically important actors in promoting economic independence while strengthening the community's economy.

Credit Union (CU) Day celebration at the Taman Jubileum Retreat Center in Sibolangit on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The event carried the theme, "The CU Movement Accelerates the Strategic Role of Women in Leadership." It served as an important occasion to further strengthen women's leadership and contributions to the development of the local economy. Through cooperatives and the CU movement, women are expected to have greater opportunities to develop their potential, strengthen their entrepreneurial skills and achieve economic independence.

YAPIDI and all stakeholders involved in continuously supporting women's empowerment, particularly through the development of
cooperatives and
MSMEs. In his view, collaboration among various stakeholders is an important factor in creating an environment where women can continue to grow and develop.
"We, from the Deli Serdang Regency Government, thank YAPIDI and all stakeholders who have contributed to empowering our women. We also appreciate all parties who have contributed to this event," he said.
Women as Drivers of the Local Economy
Hanip emphasized that strengthening women's roles would not only affect individuals but could also contribute to strengthening family and community economies. Therefore, the regional government remains committed to ensuring that various women's empowerment programs are implemented sustainably, enabling women to further develop their business management skills and make better use of available economic opportunities.
Cooperatives and
MSMEs provide women with opportunities to independently develop their economic capabilities. Through these institutions and entrepreneurial activities, women can improve their skills, expand their networks and simultaneously develop their products and businesses.
