PLN Indonesia Power Partners with Kopassus to Secure Recovery Unit 1 Project

AREA SECURITY COOPERATION: PLN Indonesia Power and Kopassus sign a security cooperation agreement to support the Recovery Unit 1 project at the Labuhan Angin Power Plant.

JAKARTA | INDATANEWS.COM ~ PT PLN Indonesia Power, through its Labuhan Angin Power Plant Business Unit, has strengthened operational security by partnering with the Headquarters of Indonesia's Special Forces Command (Kopassus) to safeguard strategic infrastructure projects.

The collaboration was formalized through the signing of a Technical Cooperation Agreement on Area Security, aimed at supporting the smooth implementation of key corporate projects. The agreement was officially signed on Friday (January 23, 2026), underscoring the company's commitment to securing critical energy assets.

Focus on Recovery Unit 1

Assistant Manager for Administration of PLN Indonesia Power's Labuhan Angin Power Plant Business Unit, Bongot Tua Sinaga, explained that the agreement specifically focuses on securing the execution of the Recovery Unit 1 project. The initiative is considered a strategic priority to ensure the reliability and continuity of electricity supply.

"The security cooperation will be effective for one year, from February 1, 2026, to January 28, 2027. Through this partnership, Kopassus will provide security support to ensure that all recovery activities are carried out safely, orderly, and under conducive conditions," Bongot said on Monday (February 2, 2026).

Synergy to Minimize Security Disruptions

According to Bongot, the synergy between PLN Indonesia Power's Labuhan Angin unit and Kopassus is expected to minimize potential security disturbances while supporting uninterrupted operational activities within the power plant area.

This cooperation is also intended to enhance preventive security measures, ensuring that project implementation proceeds without obstacles that could affect operational performance.

Strengthening National Power System Reliability

Management of PT PLN Indonesia Power's Labuhan Angin Power Plant Business Unit emphasized that the Technical Cooperation Agreement on Area Security reflects the company's strong commitment to safety, security, and timely completion of strategic projects.

"With the support of Kopassus, the Recovery Unit 1 project at the Labuhan Angin Power Plant is expected to be completed optimally, on schedule, and under secure and stable conditions, thereby contributing directly to the reliability of Indonesia's national power system," the management stated.
