Aceh Police Chief Attends Rice Harvest in Pidie to Strengthen National Food Security

This commitment was demonstrated during the large-scale rice harvest conducted by the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) on Friday, July 17, 2026, in Gampong Karieng, Mutiara Timur District, Pidie Regency.

The event was attended by Aceh Police Chief Inspector General of Police (Irjen Pol.) Ruddi Setiawan, S.I.K., S.H., M.H., who was present in person. He was accompanied by representatives from the TNI, the regional government, the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and farmer groups. The presence of various institutions reflected strong cooperation in supporting strategic government programs in the field of food security.

Before attending the harvest event, the Aceh Police Chief and his delegation first visited the Makodim 0102/Pidie Military Command headquarters for a friendship visit. During the occasion, Ruddi Setiawan joined TNI Major General Joko Hadi Susilo, Commander of Kodam Iskandar Muda, along with Forkopimda members, in performing Friday prayers.

Large-Scale Rice Harvest Held Simultaneously Across Regions

The TNI's large-scale rice harvest in Pidie Regency was part of a nationwide event directly led by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto from Abdul Saleh Air Force Base in Malang Regency, East Java. The harvest was conducted virtually and followed by several rice-producing regions across Indonesia.

In Pidie Regency, the harvest took place on approximately 15 hectares of rice fields located in Gampong Karieng, Mutiara Timur District. The extensive rice fields reflected the collaboration between the government, TNI, police, and local communities in maintaining agricultural productivity.

The event was attended by numerous officials and representatives from relevant institutions, including Commander of Kodam Iskandar Muda Major General TNI Joko Hadi Susilo, Pidie Regent Sarjani Abdullah, Pidie Police Chief AKBP Jaka Mulyana, S.I.K., M.I.K., Commander of Kodim 0102/Pidie Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Abdul Hadi, S.Sos., senior representatives from Kodam Iskandar Muda and Aceh Police, Forkopimda members, the Pidie Agriculture Office, Bulog Sigli, agricultural extension officers, farmer groups, village heads (Geuchik), and local community leaders.

President Calls for Acceleration of Agricultural Self-Sufficiency

In his address, President Prabowo Subianto stated that food security is one of the most important foundations in strengthening national resilience. The President urged all elements of society to intensify cooperation in increasing agricultural production and accelerating national food self-sufficiency.

In addition to increasing production, the President emphasized the importance of continuous assistance for farmers and the development of agricultural product processing. These efforts are considered essential to enable the agricultural sector to generate greater added value and contribute to improving public welfare.

President Prabowo also reminded all stakeholders to appreciate the contributions of farmers and fishermen, who have long been at the forefront of ensuring food availability for the people.

Strengthening the agricultural sector is not limited to increasing production but also includes empowering farmers through technological support, agricultural guidance, improved management, and better processing of harvest products.

TNI, Police, and Government Collaboration Supports Farmers

The participation of the Aceh Police Chief alongside TNI representatives, regional government officials, and the community in the TNI's large-scale rice harvest represents a concrete form of cross-sector cooperation in supporting the national food security program.

This collaboration is expected to create a stronger agricultural system, increase the productivity of farming areas, and provide positive impacts on the welfare of farmers in Pidie Regency.
