ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM – A wave of emotion and compassion filled Wih Bersih Village, Lelabu Hamlet, Bebesen District, as the Aceh Tengah Police launched the construction of a proper home for 75-year-old Maimunah. The initiative is part of the 80th anniversary celebration of Bhayangkara Day, reflecting a strong commitment to social welfare beyond law enforcement duties.
Maimunah has lived alone since the passing of her husband many years ago. Until now, she resided in a small, makeshift hut measuring approximately 1.5 x 4 meters, owned by her nephew. The fragile structure—built with plywood walls and a corrugated tin roof—offered little protection and comfort for an elderly resident.
Her difficult living conditions highlight years of hardship and resilience. Now, hope has begun to grow as the Aceh Tengah Police steps in through its social housing program aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable residents.

Groundbreaking Ceremony Marked with Solidarity
Aceh Tengah Police Chief AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, S.I.K., M.H., personally attended the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony, officially marking the start of the home construction for Maimunah.
The event was simple yet deeply meaningful, attended by local residents, community leaders, and village officials from Kampung Lelabu, all expressing heartfelt appreciation for the initiative.

Social Commitment Beyond Policing DutiesAKBP Muhamad Taufiq emphasized that the housing project reflects the police's broader responsibility toward society.
"The police are not only responsible for maintaining security, but also for supporting the social well-being of the community. May this house bring blessings, peace, and happiness for Mrs. Maimunah," he stated.
As part of the 80th Bhayangkara Day celebrations, the
Aceh Tengah Police is constructing two houses—one for Maimunah and another for a 68-year-old resident in Lengah Village, Bies District. The program also includes various social activities such as health services, blood donation drives, and community outreach initiatives designed to strengthen ties between the police and the public.
For Maimunah, this initiative marks a new chapter in her life—offering her the dignity and security of a proper home in her later years. (IDNC)
