BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM – In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Bhayangkara Anniversary, the Riau Islands Regional Police (Polda Kepri) has partnered with the Indonesian Press Photo Association (PFI Kepri) to launch a photography competition titled "Polri for the Community." The contest is officially open to all residents of the Riau Islands and offers a total prize pool of up to IDR 16 million.
The initiative is part of a broader series of commemorative activities marking the Bhayangkara anniversary and aims to highlight the close relationship between the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the public through visual storytelling. Participants are encouraged to capture meaningful moments from police activities, particularly those related to public service, social engagement, and humanitarian work.
Promoting Humanistic Police ImageryPFI Kepri Chairman Tommy Purniawan emphasized that the competition is designed not only as a contest but also as a creative platform for the public. According to him, photography plays a vital role in shaping strong visual narratives that reflect the interaction between police officers and society.
He invited photographers, journalists, students, and the general public to document Polri's daily activities that demonstrate service, dedication, and care for the community. Each submitted work, he added, should present an honest, humanistic, and inspiring perspective beyond technical quality alone.
