LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM – Police in Kotapinang have moved swiftly to tackle the growing threat of dengue fever, which has intensified due to fluctuating weather conditions. Thick clouds of insecticide from a large-scale fogging operation blanketed the police compound, officers' housing, and nearby residential areas on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
The initiative is part of a decisive effort to break the transmission chain of the potentially deadly disease.

"This fogging effort is not only to protect the police environment but also the surrounding community. We want residents to feel safe from the threat of dengue," said AKP Maruli.

In addition to fogging, the police urged residents to adopt the "3M" prevention strategy: regularly cleaning water containers, tightly covering storage units, and disposing of or recycling unused items.Officials stressed that fogging alone provides only temporary relief without consistent environmental hygiene.
Residents welcomed the initiative and actively supported the effort by granting access to their homes and yards. The visible presence of police and health workers also enhanced the community's sense of security.
"We're grateful this effort benefits not just the police but also the community. It makes us feel more protected," said a resident living near the police station.
