BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Marlina Muzakir, Chair of the Aceh Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK) and Head of the Aceh Fish Consumption Promotion Forum (Forikan), visited MIN Model Banda Aceh Islamic Elementary School on Saturday, April 18, 2026, to promote healthy eating habits among children through increased fish consumption.
The visit formed part of the national campaign "Gerakan Memasyarakatkan Makan Ikan" (Gemarikan), which aims to raise public awareness about the nutritional benefits of fish, particularly for children's growth and development.

The program highlights the importance of fish as a rich source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids, both essential for child development and
stunting prevention.
"Gemarikan is a national program aimed at strengthening public awareness of fish consumption, especially among children," Kak Na said.

According to her, consistent fish consumption could significantly contribute to building a strong and healthy "Golden Generation 2045."
"The nutrients in fish support both physical growth and cognitive development in children. God willing, this program will help us build a healthy, intelligent, and globally competitive generation by 2045," she added.

Market Day Encourages Early Entrepreneurship
The visit coincided with the school's Market Day activity, where Marlina interacted with students and purchased healthy snacks prepared and sold by fourth-grade pupils.
She praised the students' creativity and highlighted the educational value of the program in fostering entrepreneurship from an early age.
"Very good, creative, and impressive. If Market Day becomes a regular activity, children can develop entrepreneurial skills early on. This will help them become independent, creative, and business-minded," Kak Na said.
The event was also attended by the Head of the Aceh Fisheries and Marine Affairs Agency, Safrizal, the Head of the Aceh Women Empowerment and Child Protection Office, Meutia Juliana, and other invited guests. (IDNC)
