BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Barelang Police (Polresta Barelang) carried out a social outreach program through its Water and Air Police Unit (Satpolairud), distributing food assistance to coastal residents in Tanjung Uma, Batam. The initiative is part of the weekly "Jumat Berkah" (Blessed Friday) program aimed at strengthening community ties and providing direct support to those in need.
Aid Delivered by Sea Patrol Unit
Officers from Satpolairud, led by Iptu Zia Ul Haq, navigated the waters around Tanjung Uma to reach residents living along the coastline. By using patrol boats, the team ensured that assistance was delivered directly and efficiently to the target communities, many of whom rely on maritime activities for their livelihood.

Hundreds of Food Packages Distributed
During the operation, police distributed around 100 food packages containing essential items such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, tea, coffee, instant noodles, sardines, condensed milk, biscuits, and ready-to-eat meals. Beyond providing basic necessities, officers also used the opportunity to raise awareness about public safety and security (kamtibmas), encouraging residents to actively support a safe and orderly environment in the coastal area.

Strengthening Community Policing
The Head of Satpolairud Polresta Barelang, Kompol I Kade Dwi Suryawandika, emphasized that social programs like this are an essential part of modern policing. He stated that initiatives such as "Jumat Berkah" help strengthen trust between law enforcement and the community while reinforcing social responsibility.
