MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM - Deputy Regent of Deli Serdang, Lom Lom Suwondo SS, has called on Persatuan Pemuda Jawa (Pendawa) Indonesia to continue playing an active role in regional development. He said social organizations can make meaningful contributions through social activities, local economic empowerment, cultural preservation, and efforts to strengthen community solidarity.
Lom Lom made the statement while attending the closing event of the Harmony Celebration marking the 27th anniversary of
Pendawa Indonesia at the Raja Inal Siregar Hall at the
North Sumatra Governor's Office in Medan on Sunday, September 20, 2026. The event marked 27 years of the organization's development while also providing an opportunity to strengthen relations among its leaders, members, the public, and regional government institutions.
"I hope Pendawa Indonesia will continue to grow, develop, and consistently produce ideas and activities that bring progress to North Sumatra and Indonesia," Lom Lom said.
According to Lom Lom, a social organization should not merely serve as a gathering place for its members. It can also play a strategic role in raising social awareness, strengthening relationships within the community, and initiating various activities that provide direct benefits to the public.

North Sumatra Provincial Government Timur Tumanggor delivered a message from the Governor of
North Sumatra. In the message, the provincial government encouraged
Pendawa Indonesia to continue contributing to regional development, particularly by strengthening the community's economy and developing micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM).
The North Sumatra Provincial Government is also preparing a program to provide 10,000 free halal certifications for UMKM. The program is part of government support for the development of community-based businesses and is also intended to help UMKM prepare their products to better meet market requirements.

UMKM is considered an important component in strengthening the economic conditions of the community. Small businesses need assistance and access to various support programs so they can develop their businesses sustainably.
