DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The Yayasan Gugus Depan Deli Serdang 926 marked its 15th anniversary on Saturday, September 26, 2026, while also launching the construction of a new building in Saentis Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency. The event was attended by Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan, represented by Zainal Abidin Hutagalung, Assistant for Government Affairs and Social Welfare at the Deli Serdang Regional Secretariat.
The foundation's 15th anniversary marked an important moment to strengthen its commitment to developing the younger generation through the Scout movement. The groundbreaking ceremony for the new building also marked another step in expanding facilities to support various educational, training and development programs for members of the Scout movement.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Yayasan Gugus Depan Deli Serdang 926, Supandi, said the foundation had consistently maintained its commitment over the past 15 years to developing the character of young people through Scouting activities. He said the Scout movement played an important role in instilling discipline, independence, responsibility, teamwork and leadership skills.
"Scouting is not merely an activity carried out in the field, but a process of character building. We want to develop a generation of young people who are disciplined, independent and responsible, able to work well with others and contribute to society," he said.
New Building to Strengthen Scout Development
Supandi explained that the construction of the new building was an important part of the foundation's efforts to provide more representative facilities for Scout activities. The building is expected to provide adequate space for educational programs, training sessions, meetings and various development activities for members of the Scout movement.
He also expressed his appreciation to the Deli Serdang Regency Government and all parties involved for the attention and support they had provided to Yayasan Gugus Depan Deli Serdang 926 throughout its 15 years of existence.
"On behalf of Yayasan Gugus Depan Deli Serdang 926, I would like to thank the Deli Serdang Government and all parties involved for their attention and support. May this synergy and cooperation continue in the future to advance the Scout movement and contribute to developing a capable and strong-charactered young generation in Deli Serdang," he said.
According to Supandi, adequate facilities would help the foundation implement its development programs more effectively. He hoped the construction of the building would not only benefit the organization but also support joint efforts to prepare a generation of young people with strong character and a high level of social awareness.

Deli Serdang Government Recognizes Foundation's Contribution
Meanwhile, Zainal Abidin Hutagalung, Assistant for Government Affairs and Social Welfare at the Deli Serdang Regional Secretariat, delivered a message from the Deli Serdang Regent and attended the event in his capacity as chairman of the Deli Serdang Scout movement's district-level organization.
In his address, the Deli Serdang Regency Government recognized the contribution of Yayasan Gugus Depan Deli Serdang 926 to youth development. The regional government considers Scouting to have a strategic role in building young people's character, particularly by instilling discipline, independence, responsibility, leadership skills and a spirit of service to the community.
"On behalf of the Deli Serdang Government, we congratulate the foundation on its 15th anniversary. May this moment further strengthen the spirit of service and contribution to developing a young generation with character, discipline, independence, responsibility and leadership skills," he said.
Zainal said the regional government viewed the construction of the building as part of efforts to strengthen facilities for Scout development in Deli Serdang Regency. More representative facilities could support various activities while contributing to improving the quality of development programs for Scout members.
The Deli Serdang Government also remains open to cooperation with various stakeholders to strengthen youth development. Zainal said the government, youth organizations, the community, businesses and other social groups each had complementary roles in developing the next generation.

Scout Movement as a Forum for Character Building
Zainal emphasized that developing the younger generation requires the participation of various stakeholders. Therefore, the regional government encouraged the Scout movement to continue serving as a forum for character building while providing young people with opportunities to develop social skills, leadership, independence and a sense of community.
"Success in developing the younger generation is a shared responsibility. Let us make the Scout movement a forum where a resilient and strong-charactered young generation in Deli Serdang can grow with a strong sense of community," he said.
The 15th anniversary celebration of Yayasan Gugus Depan Deli Serdang 926 and the groundbreaking ceremony for the new building also served as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between the regional government and various elements of the Scout movement. The collaboration is expected to expand support for various youth development programs in Deli Serdang Regency.
The event was attended by representatives of the government, the Regional House of Representatives, labor organizations, the Scout movement, district and village administrations, as well as community figures. The presence of various groups underscored their support for continuing youth development through Scouting activities.
Those in attendance included Deli Serdang Regional House of Representatives member Rahmadsyah; Chairman of DPD SP PT PLN UID North Sumatra, Romy Maranatha Ginting; Chairman of DPC SP PLN UP3 Medan Utara, Agus Naini Siregar; Head of the Deli Serdang Kwarcab Training Center, Nasib Solichin; and project architect Saharuddin Nur.
Also present were Percut Sei Tuan District Head Muhammad Kennedy Tarigan; Saentis Village Head Asmawito; Cinta Rakyat Village Head Adi Kustiono; representatives of Kwarran Percut Sei Tuan; and members of the Scout movement, mentors, trainers, community and youth figures, representatives of district and village administrations, as well as members of the Gugus Depan 926 extended family.
With the construction of the new building, Yayasan Gugus Depan Deli Serdang 926 is expected to be better equipped to provide suitable facilities for Scout activities. The facility is also part of efforts to strengthen character development so that the young generation of Deli Serdang can grow into disciplined, independent and responsible individuals with strong leadership skills.
