DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The government of Deli Serdang Regency has begun a structured transformation of telecommunications and utility cable infrastructure in Lubuk Pakam District. The initiative, titled "Deli Serdang Without Overhead Cables," serves as a pilot project covering a total stretch of approximately 3.8 kilometers.
Pilot Project Covers Five Main Roads
The program is jointly implemented by the Deli Serdang Water Resources, Public Works, and Construction Agency (SDABMBK) and the Association of Telecommunication Network Providers (APJATEL). The undergrounding work will take place along five major roads in Lubuk Pakam: Jalan Sutomo (503 meters), Jalan Diponegoro (703 meters), Jalan Thamrin (698 meters), Jalan Sudirman (1,019 meters), and Jalan Ahmad Yani (955 meters).

From Overhead Lines to Underground Systems
According to Janso Sipahutar, Head of SDABMBK Deli Serdang, the existing overhead cable networks will be gradually replaced with underground cable systems. The initiative is designed to improve urban aesthetics while supporting the national Indonesia ASRI program (Safe, Healthy, Clean, and Beautiful), which is promoted under President Prabowo Subianto's administration.

We have set a deadline until June, as Deli Serdang will host the 26th APKASI Anniversary and the Election of the Indonesian Regional Autonomy Princess in July 2026," Sipahutar said on Thursday (April 23, 2026) in Lubuk Pakam.
