Arrest Made Following Public Tip-Off

Labuhanbatu Selatan Police Chief AKBP Rosef Efendi, S.I.K., M.H., CPHR., through Head of Public Relations (Kasi Humas) AKP Sujono, stated on Thursday, July 23, 2026, that the case began after police received information from the public through the Dumas Presisi public complaint service.

Previously, local residents reported activities allegedly linked to drug transactions in the Jalan Baru area, Kotapinang Urban Village. After receiving the report, Satresnarkoba investigators immediately conducted an investigation to verify the information.

Following surveillance at the location, officers took action and arrested RH alias Jalik along with suspected methamphetamine, which was secured as evidence.

"Based on information from the public, Satresnarkoba officers conducted an investigation, surveillance, and subsequently carried out an operation at the reported location. As a result, a man identified as RH alias Jalik was arrested along with evidence suspected to be methamphetamine," said AKP Sujono.

AKP Sujono explained that the successful handling of this case demonstrates the importance of active community participation in efforts to eradicate drug trafficking. Information provided by residents serves as an important first step for police in uncovering illegal activities that disturb public order.

"We appreciate members of the public who are not afraid to provide information to the police. This cooperation is essential so that the space for drug abusers and illegal dealers can continue to be narrowed," he said.

Satresnarkoba Investigates Supplier Network

During the initial questioning, RH alias Jalik admitted that he obtained the methamphetamine from another person whose identity is still under investigation. The suspect's statement has become the basis for further investigation by the Satresnarkoba unit of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police.

Investigators are currently working to uncover other individuals who are suspected of being involved in the drug distribution network. Further investigations are aimed at tracing the source of the narcotics supply while preventing the wider circulation of illegal drugs within the jurisdiction of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police.

RH alias Jalik is currently being detained at the Satresnarkoba facility of the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police and is undergoing the legal process. Investigators are also questioning witnesses, submitting confiscated items for forensic examination, completing investigation files, and coordinating with prosecutors before the case is submitted to court.

Police Urge Public Cooperation in Combating Drugs

The Labuhanbatu Selatan Police emphasized that efforts to eradicate drug trafficking will continue to be strengthened through consistent law enforcement measures and preventive programs involving the community.

Police reminded the public that combating drug crimes requires cooperation from all elements of society. Residents play an important role by providing information whenever they discover indications of drug abuse or illegal distribution activities.

AKP Sujono again encouraged residents not to hesitate to report suspicious activities related to narcotics. Every report received will be handled professionally by the police.

"The fight against drugs is not only the responsibility of the police, but a shared responsibility. Every piece of information from the public, no matter how small, will be followed up professionally to create a safe, healthy, and drug-free Labuhanbatu Selatan," he concluded.

Through the disclosure of this case, the Labuhanbatu Selatan Police hope that the community will become increasingly active in supporting law enforcement efforts against drug trafficking. Cooperation between the police and residents remains a key factor in maintaining security and protecting the younger generation from the dangers of narcotics. (IDNC)
